So Frankie got into something again. He got on my headboard shelving and knocked a huge bottle of cranberry supplements onto the floor and managed to open the lid somewhere in the process. At least this time it was something natural and fruit based, but I have no idea how many he ate. I’m pretty sure it was quite a few. One of these pills is over 100% of my vitamin C content, so I’m obviously worried about how much he intook and what effects it might have on him. He also found a Pixi Stix somewhere and was eating that when I found him >_<

Oh Rachel! Just when it was all quiet on the “Frankie ate…..” front.

What exactly is in them? I’m thinking the vit c is not a problem and he might end up peeing most of it out. I think Frankie has an iron stomach.

Frankie on Pixie stix… that would be one hyper bun

He seems ok, but he would not cut the crap all night. My “friend” and I slept horribly because Frankie kept climbing on us and jumping on the headboard and knocking stuff off of it, and jumping on the dresser and doing the same, then trying to pull up carpet under my bed (that i assume had Pixi Stix spilled into it). And this morning my friend discovered that from the top of my dresser, my rabbit tore into something I had hanging on the wall above the dresser that (of course) had chocolate powder in it. Oi. I was getting up like every half hour and kept having to throw Frankie off the bed and headboard and such. Kept trying to distract him with hay but he was just not tameable >_<

Also, when I told my mom that Frankie got into the cran supplements, she told me that once as a tiny kid, I ate an entire jar of orange-flavored vitamin C tablets. She called poison control and they told her that you can’t get poisoned/overdose on vitamin C, and that your body just pees out what it can’t use. So I guess same goes for bunlets, because he seems fine, just annoying.

                  lol

He must have been back there looking for your stash. I’m using hay cubes at the moment as a good distraction for Jersey, Give them a go.

Yeah, hay cubes are usually what I use when he’s acting up to distract him. I need to buy more right now.

God bless hay blocks… Ringo is the same way! I can always tell he is about to be in hyper-mode when he sits in his litter box eating hay 100 mph and looking around for something naughty to do! A hay block solves this problem usually 9/10 times… I stock up on those puppies like toilet paper! Haha.

Was there xylitol or aspartame or any artificial sweetners in the supplement? That’d be what I’d worry about-especially if he had a few. Vitamin C is water soluable and so long as that’s not his normal intake-he should be fine with a one time high dose…How’s he doing now?

He’s fine. Just being a total brat still, haha. The pills don’t have any sweetener in them. Aspartame is actually poisonous to me… I have a miserable neurological reaction to it, so I avoid anything artificially sweetened in general. The only ingredients in these supplements that I would worry about him not being able to digest are some gelatin and beeswax in the coating. I usually try to do vegan/organic supplements, but I didn’t this time around.

Oh that’s perfect then! That’d be the only thing I’d really worry about-and it’s been a few days so your obviously in the clear

Time to get a locking cabinet for all the “Frankie-thinks-they-are-edible” things.
Well gee whiz, if you didn’t have Frankie to keep you on your toes, what WOULD you do with your time during the day? ^_^

Glad to hear he is okay though. Cast iron stomach, indeed!

Now I’m gonna have to strategically place all the poinsettia plants my mom just bought so he can’t reach them easily . I know Frankie will be trying to eat them for sure. Sigh. That’s also what I get for never moving out, haha

You should post a big list of all the weird things he’s ever eaten. That would be something to see. Also we haven’t seen any Frankie pics in a while!

I’m new here, but I don’t see anything cute or funny about this. If you can’t keep things out of Frankie’s reach, then the responsible thing to do is get a pen for him. Otherwise, it sounds like it’s only a matter of time before he gets into something that hurts him.

Sorry I had to giggle about how much your friend would have been like…wtf is wrong with this bunny?? and why is he all over her room messing things up??!?!?!?!

I’m sure he’ll be okay, he does have such a thunder gut, nothing can phase him. I love Frankie though, please let him know we care about him and he should stop being a little turd and eating strange things okay?!!? I’d be heart broken if he had to run off to the emergency room!!!!!

I just had some in and out the other day and Bee was all over that bag like it was the best thing ever. I had to scoot her off and insure her that french fries were not her forte!

Ah Lexi&Travis don’t worry “(digxmexnow) is a great rabbit mommy, just has a very naughty bunny who constantly challenges her bun proofing. Sure it’s a good reminder to all bunny owners to expect the unexpected but really she already knows this. Sorry but I wouldn’t think if I left a pixie stick in my room that my buns would be interested in it either. *shrug*

Lexi&Travis – thank you for your concern! We can laugh in reflection of the weird things that Frankie has gotten done (and trust me, he goes out of his way to get the stuff he does… it’s amazing how clever he can be), but when it comes down to it, he is very well taken care of and any potential situation is very closely monitored for his health and safety! I could never be careless about his health… he’s my baby! Also take into account that certain regular members on here have years worth of stories from his shenanigans, so they weren’t all in a short time period

Lintini – “please let him know we care about him and he should stop being a little turd and eating strange things okay?!!?” made me laugh pretty hard. Thanks! I’ll let him know. And my friend stayed over again last night and left this morning while I was still sleeping. When I asked him why he didn’t say goodbye, he said he was in a crappy mood because he didn’t sleep well for the following reason: “You and the bunny were awful last night”. Hahaha. Oops. The bunny comes before the un-boyfriend anyway
