Cainan’s post: barely eating pellets

cainan Posts: 35 User Settings	11/18/2010 04:23 AM Delete Edit Quote Reply Alert The last two days Merry’s been leaving about half of her pellets uneaten at night.  Her foster mom told me that that would be one of the first signs that Merry might be having trouble with her teeth. I just saw the vet about a month ago, who said that Merry was doing okay, and that not eating hay was when I should worry. Merry’s been chomping down no problem on hay and salad…. so I’m confused.  I don’t want to have to put Merry through the traumatic drive to the vet (and pay $75!) if there’s no reason. Is it possible she’s just gotten picky?

First, how much do you give her daily? If it’s more than a quarter of a cup it could be too much and she’s lost interest. Also, is it adult pellets (Oxbow Bunny Basics-T) or baby alfalfa based? I would change it over to the adult kind I recommend because they can dislike alfalfa after a while and it is fattening. Is she chewing on any of her hard toys? Watch her eat. cainan, I apologize, but there is a glitch going on with the posts that we need to alert BinkyBunny about to get fixed.
Your post appeared twice, and I deleted the second duplicate one. Usually that leaves the original post alone. In this case it deleted both. Petzy had the same problem with a post yesterday. I am sending an alert to BB to get this fixed, and to warn other forum leaders to stop correcting the duplicates until we get a green light.
Meanwhile, Beka and I responded to your post. I would suggest starting a fresh one now so you can get alerts that someone has replied to you. Otherwise, the computer thinks it’s my post and alerts me. I was afraid this might happen, so I’d copied your whole post first, and have pasted the whole thing here for you to read, so ultimately none of it was lost.
