This is a bit of an ARGH day for me. While cleaning up the buns’ habs, I dropped a semi-capped bottle of water into their goodies tub. I’ve definitely lost all the new dried papaya and pineapple I just got from Bunspace since they only pack them in wax paper bags and these got wet. (Oh well…munch-munch…I think I’ll just have a few…munch-munch.) Mimzy’s new grass mat got a bit of it, so it’s up drying…but in the process, I found a couple of bags of APD cookies that have probably been there for at least a year. They were not opened so they didn’t get wet.

But…do you think they are still okay? I don’t know what kind of preservatives, if any, that APD puts in their bunny treats. I’m inclined to toss them out of caution, and becaus the buns don’t eat that many anyway.

We’ve got the tropical flavors, the strawberry/bluberry and a pumpkin. I’m sad about the strawberry ones, those were Fiver’s fave, but they are a no-no now.

So when stuff gets wet, even lightly…like hay or treats or yucca/willow chewies…do y’all just junk them? Or can some things be dried and returned to bunny? How do you tell what’s good and what’s not? (Besides obvious things like mold spores growing on something.)

MM, I was going to answer with a suggestion or two, but it was so rediculous when I read it that I just have to say forgive me, I just worked at home on the computer for 4 hours and am no longer able to think. It’s crunch mode at work on top of family stuff, so I am not reliable bunny wise. Am going for walkies while the sun goes down, and sending you good wishes and salted roads for Fiver and your daughter.

Don’t know about the ADP cookies. I’m assuming the willow chewies are willow branch type things? If so, I would just try to dry them out but maybe inspect them for a while to make sure they don’t get moldy or something. IDK, that would be my rule of thumb. (I just had a LOL moment….I first typed thump instead of thumb. haha)

You could put them in an oven at about 212F til dry, then turn it off and leave them there til oven has cooled. That is, if there is anything left. Munch, munch.
