Besides hanging out with your bunnies, that is

I like to go the gym .. it makes me feel energized and happy.. and I sleep better.

I used to have this Japanese milk bath soak that I used to take baths with.. it would put me right to sleep.. reading books helps me escape from the world.

        How bout you?

I’m the same as you, I love to exercise. I always return from my daily runs feeling so refreshed.

          Naptime helps, too. lol.

well most of my day consists of exersize(1 hours walk before woth with my dogs then 8 hours of running back and forth, mopping and wrestling dogs, hauling large pails of water back and forth, lifting 40lbs bags of dog food up and down over my head etc..) exersize is the last thing I want to do to “unwind” lol, I chill out and watch TV, or I take a hot bath. if I havent been on the go all day then I take a walk.

Do you work at a kennel? I lost like, 10lbs when I worked at a boarding kennel a couple summers ago. I hated it.

I loooove being in bed with a book, with the low lights down low. Relaxes me so much.

I also love knitting and cuddling lol

                    Bed with book, definitely.

                    Hot bath, with bubbles.

Working on a bead project that doesn’t require much besides repeated stitches… heh. Easy but time intensive. Always puts me to sleep lol.

Curling up on couch with blankie and hot chocolate and hubby person thing. That works too

relax and unwind….wha?  You mean people actually do that?

I used to play video games to help me unwind, but I just don’t have time much for that anymore even though I really enjoy it–not sure it relaxes me though now that I think about it.    The one thing that I look forward too though every day is going for at least an hour bike ride after my work for the day is done. .  So beautiful around here and so many paths right along the water that it really just helps wash away any “busy” thoughts.    It’s getting darker now so my husband andI have a whole host of night gear and lights for our bikes.  And it’s just as beautiful to watch the sunset, or the moon reflection in the water when  we go after sunset.  That  is what really settles me down.

I recently downloaded the “zen timer” meditation application to my android phone and tried it for the first time. It actually worked pretty well!

I love hiking with the dogs. Since Wickypom got that foxtail up his nose and $500 later my mom won’t let me take the dogs…and there is no way I am going alone. Sounds silly …not like a 10lb pom and a 20lb rat terrier will protect me much but it at least feels that way.

For now, coming home and winding down on BinkyBunny, giving veggies to my bunlings, and a hot shower will have to do. =/

I like reading, cooking, relaxing in front of the tv, and riding horses (though I don’t get to do that lately, since we’re saving for a house). Oh, and wine! Haha

I ride my bike to the Norfolk SPCA if I have time enough to volunteer when I’m stressed.
Otherwise, I bake. Or take long, hot showers.

I love to go to the barn and spend time with my horse, sometimes we go for a ride, sometimes I just spend time with the horses in the pasture. It’s so relaxing and I don’t think of anything else when I’m there. It’s like a little horsey paradise. I also love to sit down with a hot chocolate or coffee and work on embroidery or read. I adore reading. I love historical fiction and I love a good book you can really get engrossed in. I could seriously read for like 8 hours straight if I had the time. Also I enjoy relaxing on the computer, especially BB.

Lately I’m spending a lot of time on house design blogs and websites. We’re planning to get a house next year, so I’m constantly looking up houses in the area and coming up with decorating ideas! It’s relaxing, but it’s also exciting.

I love BB’s post…I was going to say that. I have bunnies, do you seriously think I actually RELAX?
My buns are fun to watch and spend time with, but of late so many physical probs that the stress is coming through more. Only makes me more determined that they should be well, and when that doesn’t work out I am more stressed.

Jenna has really made me slow down and take time to just stop thinking about my problems. She knows when I’m upset and brings a toy to play with to snap me out of my funks. We walk twice a day (even though it’s about 20 degrees outside all day now) and for a few minutes I have nothing to do but try to catch up to her and see she doesn’t run off into another dog’s yard. Then we come home, wash her up and dry her and curl up on my bed with my DS. (I imported Pokemon Black and White, Brit, they are excellent, even though I can’t really tell what anyone is saying!)

But I have so much stuff to accomplish over the winter that relaxing is a luxury for me right now. So I don’t feel good about doing it anyway. Probably why I’m up till late at night, so I can have the peace and quiet of all other creatures in this house sleeping and time to listen to my radio or read/play my handheld games. Maybe someday I’ll have a nice beach to take the pup for walks on, but until then, I’m, kind of stuck.

(Lin, 10 and 20 pounds…seriously? Gosh that makes Jenna sound like a shrimp at only about 5.5!)

Clean and declutter right now – I like the satisfaction I get from this. It feels good to have “white space” and to spend more time doing something other than worrying about stuff. Gives me more time to cook and bake (okay, I will one of these days). Love, love, love to read, but unfortunately with cable, I’m watching more TV – so bad. I have a ways to go, but I am almost to where I want to be and I’ve stopped shopping as much too (for cosmetics – I’m a secret cosmetics junkie, but this doesn’t relax me since it’s money spent and more “clutter”).

I also don’t have my computer at home on the weeknights since I have it at work and actually not getting on the computer is very relaxing – a digital sabbatical.

Now THAT’S scary when a bunny is bigger than your dog! 0_o I don’t think I’d want Jenna and Pip to get too close to one another…Pip would thump her to death…if the stinkeye didn’t kill her off first!

Ah yes…decluttering…I really must get back to that….*whistles*

LOL, I’m kind of torn between getting Pokemon B&W. The starters are kind of.. silly looking The new Pokemon don’t look like Pokemon to me >.< We'll see.. If you recommend it, I might as well reserve it

Yes definitely the starters are wonky. Most of the Pokes are. I thought at first Tabunne would be a fave, but I’ve started hoarding Yorterries and Harderriers already (the last evo is a bit much…too foofoo for me) where I used to have boxes filled with Buneary and Skitty. Once you get past the strangeness of it all, getting used to the new Pokes and their attacks is a challenge. Lots of new natures too I think, that make it harder for you to win battles.
                                                Chillarmy’s evo is SQUEEable.
It’s fun, and always more interesting in Japanese. I think they keep a bit more professional content in the game than Nintendo US. Cut scenes are nicer, storyline, etc. I still have my JP Heart Gold & Soul Silver too and they were much more engaging than the US versions.

Worst part is, unless you have an old DS or DS Lite, B/W is region locked, so it won’t show up on the DSi or DSiXL. Something about a new videochat feature that they don’t want folks using over here till they make the US versions, I hear.

                                                Okay, yes…I’m a PokeGeek…I admit it. Otakus unite! ^_^

Wine! I forgot about that El

RIGHT! I also forgot— How could I forget?!  I enjoy wine!  Maybe it’s because Steve and I have been on a pretty tight budget this last year, so I haven’t been able to indulge in some of my favorites, and I sure have wasted alot  of $$ trying to find a more affordable great tasting wine.  However,  thank goodness, I recently came across some good “cheap” wine ($4- $6) that still tastes full-bodied, less bite, and doesn’t leave you with a cheap wine headache.  I can’t remember the name right now though.  It’s Australian and it has given me back my joy of having a glass of wine to unwind    I’m sure I’ll pick some up this week and I”ll post it if any wine lovers want to know.

When I could drink, my favorite wine was Malvasia. Christian Bros, I think…not sure. It was a northern California vineyard.

Always used to have a nice small glass of port to go to bed with, but now it makes me sneeze! I’m not supposed to have alcohol while I’m taking tamoxifen anyway.

hhmmm relaxing, I wonder what that is sometimes LOL
Being with the horses relieves stress, I love cleaning stalls all alone, I find that bit of physical work gives me time to just enjoy and think. I sort of wish cleaning stalls paid enough money to live on b/c I would do it for a living LOL. I think I’d be a much happier person if that was my job.

I read before bed, I play some video games sometimes, even watch TV but i don’t find those things really relax me. oohh, napping outside on a nice day specially if i am camping. Now that is relaxing.

Riding (horses that is) very relaxing for me.. i love the animals, i’ve only ever ridden twice, but apperently i ride like a pro.. i assume because i’m a quick learner and feel so confertable on them.
reading – it helps me escape from the world, music – listening to any music calms me instantly. bubble baths – soothing.

I had to look that up to find out what tamoxifen was — a blocker to help prevent a reoccurance of breast cancer?  So since your original fight against cancer do you now have take that drug for the rest of your life?

I really like port too!  It’s so sugar that it offers “relaxed AND happy happy” buzz, but obviously “life” is the better buzz when you have to choose!

Actually, it’s been almost 5 years since I began tamoxifen, so the doc is talking about switching me to something like femara next February. Tamoxifen targets the ovaries, where femara only reduces estrogen/progesterone coming from the adrenals and has less chance of causing a secondary cancer in the uterus. So it’s all around easier on your system. But yeah, I will probably be on one or the other the remainder of my life, unless the doctor decides I can live without it. Since my cancer was hormone driven though, and I’m through the change, it is unlikely that it will be back. My guess is they are just preventing anything else from cropping up.

I was supposedly ‘prescribed’ port wine by my doctor as a child to ‘thin the blood’. I think my folks just liked that about a shot of it would put me to sleep well at night. lol…..j/k Our family is French, so there was always wine at the table. We see it as a food or a digestive agent more than anything. (good for cooking with too!)

But yeah, sometimes I miss it, but mostly not. If I still knew anyone who liked to drink socially, I’d definitely always be the designated driver! ^_^
Gosh, that reminds me…my son will be 21 in about a month. Oi! And he’s living in a ‘wet’ dorm this year. Thank God he doesn’t have his license yet!

We had room monitors on every floor and they constantly were barging in and seeing what was up. I was caught with my kitten 2 days after getting him. That little turd decided to attack her when she walked into my room. Gandalf was so cute though, she didn’t even write me up!

Monkeybun, you have to come visit us here in the SF Bay area and taste all the sweet wines…YUM!I  I personally LOVE sweet wines.  That’s why I like port so much!   I’ll have to try Moscato wine.

Okay, so I remembered the name of the inexpensive Australian red wine that taste pretty good!   It’s “Black Swan”  I prefer the Shiraz/Merlot mix 2008.  I know Shiraz might have more tannins (bitter after bite) because Shiraz wines have smaller grapes, therefore more skin, more bitter, but mixed with the Merlot, it’s a nice rich smooth mixture and it’s only $4.99.   Whoopee!  It’s not as rich full bodied as some of the local aged wines, but for the price it’s the best tasting— and no awful headache that some people can get from cheap 2 buck chuck wine

Another favorite IF you have the budget is Rosenblum Snows Lake Vineyard 2007 Lake County Zinfandel — also Laura Hartwig Cabs are really good Those are in the$20 – $40 dollar range which currently is over our budget, but if you can afford it, smooth smooth smooth!

IF you like white wine Rosenblum Kathy’s cuvee voignier is good!  It’s sweet and light.

Also, making clear here–I am NOT a wine expert, I just got tired of spending money on wine I didn’t like so I started researching wines and read parts of the “wine bible” to help prevent me from wasting  money on wines I wouldn’t like.

LOL.  I actually didh’t know that alcohol would EVER be allowed.   We just assumed it wasn’t….but that didn’t mean that alcohol wasn’t there. (keep in mind this was 20 years ago)  My very first year was at Alaska State University before I ended up going to a college in California..  I sure am learning alot now about the new college ways.  I do know that when I went to college there were coed bathrooms on certain floors, and I remember thinking….no, nope, na uh…not gonna take a shower on that floor!

My local store has an amazing selection (I think the buyer likes Spanish and southern French wines as much as I do) and you can find great Spanish wines for under $10. There are other good value locations, but it’s always a toss up whether you’ll get something good or not so good – I don’t think I’ve ever had a really bad Spanish red at any price point. Love them! The tannins are always low enough to be enjoyable with any food, but they have enough body to stand on their own. They’re blends, so depending on the exact region you can get different tastes.
