  I’m preparing for my new baby bunny i will be getting once it’s weaned. I think i still have a couple weeks or so before I get to bring him/her home. I am wondering if anyone can suggest some good brands of pellets I could try.
  
  Also, does it matter about the hay? I know I should use alfalfa for a baby bun, but are all alfalfa hays pretty much the same? I’ve never had to buy hay in my life, so I’m just wondering if there’s a big difference in buying one bag of alfalfa hay from one store versus the next??
  
  Okay, one more question, what is a good amount of both pellets and hay to buy at one time for a growing baby bunny? I have no idea how quickly I’ll be going through these.

  Oxbow is a really good brand of pellet. You would want the alfalfa based one for a baby, the 15/23. You also want to feed unlimited hay all through your rabbits life.
  
  I feed unlimited pellets until 8-9 months old, or mostly until the bowl is empty and they tell me about by either trampling me in my sleep or smushing their face into my legs
  
  For the hay, I really like the oxbow alfalfa hay as well. I have used it for my young buns and to get ones eating again after a spay/netuer. It smells very enticing! The BinkyBunny store here carries it as well as Petsmart now.
  
  I would start off with a 10lbs bag of pellets and a couple bags of hay to get started and see how long it lasts you and then you can judge from there. I order my pellets off BB here and I order a lot to make it worth the shipping.

  Any alfalfa brand is fine-but they do vary, as do all hays. Alfalfa should be soft and dark green. Lighter is fine, but darker and softer is yummier
  I switched to Oxbow when my store started carrying it, and I really believe Oxbow products are the best quality out there. You’ll want to also choose an alfalfa based or partially based pellet to start off with.
  Amounts I can’t help with, but Lintini’s suggestions sound good. When you have a hoard of bunnies you buy in the biggest quantities available
