I saw they had a feedline when something came up about the litters recently. I was surprised.

From appearances, it doesn’t look too bad at all. The 1st 3 ingredients being Timothy Grass Hay, Orchard Grass Hay, Brome Grass Hay. It looks like a plain pellet also.
I can’t see any nutritional breakdown on the site though – pity.

Let us know how your bunny like it.

I will. She eats Zupreem, but I like carefresh bedding so I thought it might be okay food. The ingredients seemed okay to me, no icky stuff as far as I could tell.

Cool. Thanks for the link. Just requested a sample. I highly doubt I’d ever consider switching as I am far too pleased with Oxbow brand products, but I’m curious to see the exact ingredient listing.

I found the ingredient list and the guaranteed analysis…

                • Crude protein (min) 12.0%
                • Crude fiber (max) 24.0%
                • Crude fat (min) 2.0%
                • Moisture (max) 10.0%
                • Ash (max) 10.0%
                • Omega 3 (min) 0.26%
                • Omega 6 (min) 0.6%

                Ingredients:

The fact that there’s no minimum crude fiber listed makes me wonder a bit, but all in all it doesn’t look like a bad food.

Considering the cost you pay for this (or darn near any other rabbit pellet) your better off going with Oxbow or American Pet Diner since all they do are hays and pellets. Although I know Oxbow does some litter as well.

Of course reading the ingredients of any of the foods, in my opinion, is mind boggling – I mean what is all that stuff in there LOL.

                    I’ve got questions.
So they’re gonna send a coupon so we can buy the food for free?

Also, why is corn needed in pellets? O.o

It’s a sample and a coupon for a free bag from what I’m understanding.

They send you a small sample, and a coupon for buy one bag, get one bag free.

And corn is typically added as a protein and energy source.

I was reading this book about healthy eating and they said if you can’t pronounce an ingredient, don’t eat it. It’s been interesting looking at labels (human food I am talking about) and seeing just how many things are on it that I have no clue what it is. Looks like the same for animal food too. So many chemicals =/

                            Thanks bunnnnnnnie!

Many of those ingredients listed are the chemical names of common vitamins and minerals. Same as when you read the label of a vitamin supplement bottle.
One think that irks me in this food and all foods really, it the added natural and artificial colours. Cosmetic and unecessary.

Is it necessary to put a min crude fiber if there is a max crude fiber listed? I thought it was one or the other, but what do you know about that?

Posting minimum may not be a regulation with the FDA which is probably why they don’t post it – seems like all these companies just do what is minimally required.
