        *Sigh*

I live in a house that is known to have spiders

I was petting Chacha tonight and afterward, I noticed she itched her ear. I looked inside of her ear and saw a teeny tiny tiny red dot. It looks like an insect bite!!

From my knowledge, she could have been bitten in the garage – since I have to put her in there if someone comes to look at the house when I am at home. It hasn’t happened in a while, and she has been in the living room penned up until I get home.

Is this a cause for concern?

I don’t get paid for a few days, and hope it doesn’t get too bad  I will take her in as soon as I can.

I would just keep an eye on it for now and make sure it’s not bothering her.

I wouldn’t worry yet. You could take a warm, damp washcloth and wipe it gently to clean which wouldn’t hurt. If it gets larger or starts to redden, or she shows behavior problems, then take the next step. (Guys, it’s early in AM and I can’t remember the antiseptic name that is safe for bunnies. Please recommend. I would dab some gently on it if not better in 2 days.)

It depends on what type of spider it is. If it’s a brown recluse then you definitely need to be concerned.

                I

That is what it looks like.

She seems to be itching it a little.

Damn my go-to-school-then-work schedule for 4 days

I honestly cannot see a bite in the photo. But you would need to know what type of spider it was.

It is a very light pink >< Oh darn…

She scratches her ears, as the vet had told me, because she has some scar tissue and that is likely to last for a while (ear repairing its self)

If it gets any bigger, I will need to make a vet appointment for early next week.

Rabbitpam, what was the medicine you were takling about?

If it’s just that tiny itt bitty pink dot, I would think a spider bite would swell much more than that. Could be a flea bite or mosquito bite. How is it looking today?

                        Her ears look fine.

However, she is still acting up with the occasional scratching her ear and shake her head. I have noticed that when I pet her, I pet her head and over her ears. whenever I am done, she tends to shake her head and scratch her ears. I hope it is just the scar tissue in her ear from her previous ear drum rupture.

So I’m putting my own nerves at ease and Chacha has an appointment with an exotic vet in another city, since my normal vet is out til the 13th. Ugh. Oh wells.
