Well, this may be a little late depending on where you live in the world, but tonight is the full moon and the equinox… and in Asian cultures instead of a man in the moon, there’s a rabbit in the moon, so the moon celebrations always are represented by rabbits.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_rabbit

I only recently realized this, which is weird because I’ve worked in Chinatown for years. My excuse is I’m not Asian, although supposedly according to the article many Latino cultures also see a rabbit in the moon (and I’m Latina, but no one mentioned the Moon Rabbit to me before…)

Today was the big celebration, but we’re also going out for a dinner on Sunday, it’s a good time to count your blessings and think good thoughts for all your rabbit friends, as you should during any full moon!

I’m a dragon, which is as far away from a Rabbit as you can get… LOL. I didn’t realize next year was Year of the Rabbit! How exciting. Maybe that’s why this year’s Moon Festival is a bigger deal… who knows… the intricacies of Chinese calendars are baffling to me.

I am born in year of the rabbit too.   Did you know the rabbit is interchanged for the cat in some asian circles.

Last nite we went out to see the moon and Jupiter.  Jupiter was a bright star not far from the moon.  It was neat.

I didnt’ know about a rabbit on the moon.  I will go look again tonite

Didn’t know about the rabbit in the moon but when I was little I would tell my mom I could see a bunny but she would always point out that it’s the man in the moon LOL
