I took Snow to the vet today to be checked out.  She said his back leg that is at a right angle to his body feels congenital, but they wouldn’t really know unless they x-ray which the best way to do that is to wait a couple months until he can be neutered and do it then.

She said then it would be a matter of if he does fine or if that leg develops sores from him putting weight on the side of it.  If he doesn’t, then amputation is a choice.  She said then it’s a matter of if he can function as a three-legged bunny.  She said if not, then “quality of life” comes into play.

I hope he just does well and nothing bad happens.  I don’t want to make that choice.

The X’s in his ears…Marker!!  She said the breeder must have done it to be able to identify him as the one with the bad leg quickly or something, like you could miss it.  The X’s were rubbed off by the vet.

and for anyone who was kind enough to read all this… Picture!!  Snow and Stinker were lounging together so cute last night so I snapped a picture.

The Vet thinks he is a boy, yes. She said she thought she felt a testicle but won’t know until he’s neutered… or spayed if it turns out that way.
