I’m on cymbalta for my depression, neurontin for my nerves, and have been taking sudafed for my sinuses.  Ok, not a lot of medications but……why do they have to TASTE bad?  lol  I hate taking them cause they all taste bad.  Why can’t they put a candy coating on them or something?  Or make them taste minty.  SOMETHING other than the nasty medication pill taste.  lol  Ok…I’m done complaining.

And yes, I know they probably are against making them taste good so people won’t overdose or become addicted, but still.  They’re gross.  lol

I was on Celexa for mild depression as a teen, and I went back on Celexa when my mom got ill last year. I have weaned myself off of Celexa and I hated the withdrawls I got. I got lazy, gained weight, COULDN’T STOP EATING… for 2 weeks. Celexa is for depression and for people recovering from eating disorders.

I finally bounced back from it.

I find that drinking juice helps with the nasty taste. I never take pills or any kind of vitamin or cold medicine pills with water! Yuck!

“Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down” So a wise woman sang one day LOL
I wonder if it really does?
At least they are pills, I had to take this liquid stuff and it was the most bitter, smelt like dirt and flowers (yeay all natural) and nothing could get rid of the flavore from it… so i stopped taking it LOL.

and being as you’re asking on a bunny site, I’m surprised I’m the first one to suggest hiding the pills in a piece of banana 😉

I know what you mean! I’ve been getting over a cold (for a month now) and I’ve been taking Mucinex daily. Man, that stuff is awful! Worst tasting pill ever. I don’t know why they can’t put some neutral tasting coating on it like every other over-the-counter med seems to have.

Prednisone also tastes horrible, but it’s really tiny so when I used to take it I would wrap a tiny bit of bread around it, smushing the bread down as small as possible to the size of the pill, then swallow it like that. I’d do the same with Mucinex if they weren’t horse pills 🙁

I definitely agree that juice helps. I don’t drink orange juice, but my husband does so I always steal a sip of his in the morning if I can to take my yucky Mucinex.

I’m on neurontin for for fibromyalgia and it’s gross. Also Celexa for depression and they really taste gross.

I take my pills with koolaide, or any other super duper sugary red dye filled drink. It kills the taste of the yuck-fest

yes they do taste bad.   I take 6 at one time swallow them all at once.   Easier that way.

I agree though why can’t they make a nice coating goes down easier  and taste better.

Has any one watched House lately?  Remember he would take a handfull of pills without water and actually chew them sometimes.  Ugh.  I know that isn’t for real  Must be M&M’s or something lol

I wonder if that Miracle fruit would be able to have before taking meds. You know, the one that you chew then everything you eat after that tastes sweet? Has anyone tried these before? I’m wondering what the actual fruit itself tastes like.

I’ve taken the Musinex D a few times because of congestion from allergies…ugh I agree it’s nasty!  I absolutely can’t swallow those big horse pills so I always buy strawberry applesauce and hide it in there; it helps but if it stays in my mouth for to long then I can start to taste it.

The only way I can take pills is to push them to the back of my throat with my finger. Yeah, everyone’s probably gagging, but I’m fine with it obviously. I’ve tried to take them like normal people, using water to wash them down, but they’d start floating all over my mouth and as soon as they get wet they start disintegrating, so then they’d just taste WORSE. The cymbalta actually doesn’t taste that bad. Like I’ve never hated taking it cause of the taste.
I just wish i didn’t have to take it in the first place.

I agree – prednisone is just absolutely nasty. The neurontin is making me eat like a cow and gain weight. Sigh. I need to start walking anyways. lol

So at least I’m not the only one. LOL Maybe I’ll try the banana thing. haha

Totally worth is though so I don’t have shakey hands, butterfly stomach, bad breath control, sweating, cotton mouth, etc etc. A french horn players worst nightmares. It’s my life saver. I wash it down with some nummy soy milk! Gonna take some tomorrow for my wind ensemble audition! Wish me luck!

Anyone tasted Baytril when it’s not flavored?
I did, by accident (put the syring in my mouth to hold it LOL) and OMG it’s AWEFUL! So I make sure to give a crasin RIGHT after to help get the taste out of the poor bunnies mouthes LOL.

eau, Hershey used to take Baytril tablets. I’d stuff pieces into raisins but she’d get suspicious anyway.
