I used to purchase 40 oz bags of Orchard Hay online, but I found it did not last me long.

I recently got a 9 pound bag of Orchard in the mail. I noticed the texture is a little different. It seems crunchy, similar to Timothy. And there are not a lot of soft pieces like in the 40 oz bag

Chacha seems to be okay with it, but I think she prefers her soft pieces best. Anyone notice this?

I get the big box of Oxbow orchard from the rescue in Dallas because my buns all like it better than the timothy. It seems in the middle to me. Some cuts of timothy were softer, some much harder depending on when they were harvested.

Yes, I agree. All of the 40oz bags I’ve received are sooo sooo soft and Chacha loves eating all of it Now she is picky as heck!

She’s a picky little stinker like all of mine! I started buying the orchard grass and they won’t eat anything else. It’s so soft and green and it costs me a fortune! It’s only available in 40 oz at my pet store but I’ve got the odd bag that wasn’t as soft, like they snuck in some timothy or something. Grrrrr
