So what do you play?
How long have you played?

I’ve wasn’t a ‘gamer’ so to say until 2 years ago when i was introduced to WoW, and untill recently I played pretty religiously. I bought Elder Scrolls Oblivion for my PS3 but never got into it, I think b/c it’s a 1 player and not social… and b/c the PS3 controler confuses me LOL I’m old :p

I mostly play PC stuff like, AoE (3), AoM, The SIMS was a big one though i just liked cheating  & building the houses LOL . I had the Zoo and rollar coaster Tycoon games as well and a few others like them.

I’ve been gaming since NES. Yeahhhhhh. Duck Hunt, Contra, god, I feel old. But PC only for the last like, 8 years. But I’m buying an xbox next week!!!! Squee – excited. Boyfriend won’t play games but has sentimental attachment to xbox, so I thought I should get one so we can play together and I won’t have to feel guilty when I come home from work and just want to game.

I play anything except sports games. Seriously, golf video games? Who came up with that? What a horrible idea! But, strategy games and RPG are usually what I gravitate too. I did play WoW, for like 2 years, quit when Lich King came out because I was offended by what they were doing to the pally class. Played a couple other MMOs since then, I love MMO PvP stuff, which is funny because I always play a healer? I want to be in the action but not doing the killing? Who knows.

I really like empire building games too. Civilization and things like that. Secret desire to rule the world? Check.

That’s so funny, i play healers too… My main is a Pally healer, then my next is a Boomkin/Tree Druid I like DPS on her now, and I’m pretty good at it. But I could never say bye to my Pally, she’s my first love LOL

I had NES, duckhunt WOOT! Super Mario brothers 2 was my favorite. I have all the Play Station systems (PS1 is chipped), I still have NES and Sega Genisis if u can believe it. I’ve not seen anything on X-Box that make me want to buy it. I HATE sport games, unless it’s racing. And my hubby HATES RPG types and loves sport games *sigh* So needless to say we don’t play video games together unless it’s Rock band lol

WoW’s next expansion will be coming out (X-mas maybe?) I will get it… i want to see the crazy changes adn see if i like them or they make me cry LOL I stopped playing pretty much this summer, just to much stuff to do. I bet I’ll play this winter though, I go through wanting and not wanting to play. Oh and I collect pets on there, i think I am up to 110… Spring Rabbit… my fave :p

I looooooooooved Kirby on NES. So good. I think I still hear that music in my dreams sometimes. I wish I still had some of the old consoles!

I am open to PS3 instead of xbox, but bf tried controller. Well I should say I asked him to at bestbuy, and I don’t think he gave it a fair chance – he was just like, this controller sucks, I like the xbox better. Also was hoping with a larger online community to play with, maybe it could help me meet some friends up here. I’ve been here for 3 years (KY and LA before) and have made only 3 good friends, all of whom have now moved. People here are tough nuts to crack. Anyways, I am mostly excited at the prospect of getting to game with someone else again. As I said, it’s been a while since an MMO, and single player campaigns are fun but add to that my no friends since last one moved 2 months ago, and I’m kind of itching for more “social time”, but don’t quite want to give up my game habit (addiction, if we’re honest).

I have only played Wii once – it was fun, but it seems like it’s really suited for playing when you have like 3 or 4 people. At least with the games it offers. That was my impression, and I can’t tell you when last I had so many people over at once.

I could start playing an MMO again, but I’m afraid it will eat my life again – and I’m about to start work in an industry that notoriously overworks people year round. No time…. My pally was so fun, I loved heal-tanking. Or being unkillable in PvP battles. Druid healers were so much more versatile for PvP, but try as I might to level one it was just…. painful. Not that the pally was much better, but the 20s as a druid just felt impossible and aggravating to me. I’m kind of irked that after having like 200 days played on my pally and some of the best gear available in the BC time, I didn’t just sell it when I quit. I guess I wanted the possibility of going back, but by now there’s so much new stuff it’s overwhelming to think about how much time I’d have to spend.

A friend in my guild once pointed out how most girl gamers play healers or rogue. I laughed, and said, maybe it stands to reason – we’re all nurturing or backstabbing, or some combination thereof?

I’ve played WoW since just after the release of BC. I do tend towards the healer/tank types. I have an 80 bear druid, an 80 resto shaman, an 80 shadow/holy priest. And I have a 70 pally on horde somewhere I have been leveling my mages recently.. yes, that is plural. I have been on numerous servers lately lol.

used to play Baldur’s gate with my mom, when I was 13ish. so 14 years ago. That is what got me started gaming Met my hubby playing Counter strike lol.

Been playing a bunch of xbox games with hubby too. Too many to count hehe.

Dragon Age: Origins is too much fun. I got the PC version, hubby got xbox version. PC is sooo much better. Considering dusting off my LotRO account now that it is free to play

LMAO, hahaha so true. I have one of everything, my rogue got to level 6 or something and then became the designated Banker (till I made my DK the banker as a bad joke of what i think of DK’s LOL).

I was addicted for over a year for sure. I’m glad to say I can do regular stuff now, and my thoughts aren’t on the amount of badges i need for what gear. I didn’t get to really play BC’s much b/c that’s when I started and by the time I hit 60 LK was here and so I fly by trying to get to Northrend.
I’m not raiding anymore either, I don’t have time to dedicate to that, and I like to have fun, I cannot take a game as serious as some people do (like a few friend whoa re up for 4am raiding times  GAG).

I’m a holy/disc priest. I was discoing up until a few weeks ago when they asked me to go holy. I’ve been playing since WoW release in 2004. I played a warlock in vanilla, and then a prot paladin for about 3 years. Now I’m just enjoying healing rather than maintanking. I have more freedom to “miss” raids now lol.

I was surprised to do an Armory search and see, there used to be only 3 toons with my character name. Now there are like…. 20! What happened in the last 2 years?? My toon, in pvp gear, looks like my last logon was that and not the raid gear.

Sighhhhh. I think Aion and Warhammer MMOs were better than WoW, more fun to me, but not enough players. I miss that character….. maybe someday haha, but only if I found a good guild again. The pressure to be on every night for a raid cuz you’re one of a guilds main healer was too much, why I ultimately quit, but…. at least the group I played with was super fun, even when we were wiping over and over trying new content we had a good time and nobody got to torqued up. People were like, the right balance of serious, enough to get to do hard stuff, but not so serious that people were pissy. I hate that – I get wanting to be good, but it is supposed to be enjoyable after all, too many people do take it too serious

Speaking of games, I played like 3 hours of plants v zombies today while studying. Uhhh…. yeah…. not so productive. It’s so addictive and fun, though!

I kind of want to catch up on some of the last couple years shooters. I do like them, I just never liked playing them on PC, prefer to have joystick type action to aim. To me, strategy and RPG were always PC realm, and action or shooters were best on consoles.

You know what game was AMAZING…before they ruined it. … Star Wars Galaxies!!! It was ruined shortly after the first expansion because of the combat revamp …but there has never been a better game that was very VERY female friendly….sorry but I loved dancing and playing music in the cantinas and I owned the largest, and most popular clothing shop on my server. It was FANTASTIC. Not every woman likes to go and shoot up a bunch of womp rats and it was really balanced in different things to do if people didnt want to be a fighting class. There was also the huge social aspect and economy of the game too!

I played Aion a bit too. I did enjoy it, but had no one to play with so I got bored. hubby wasn’t all that into it. Too bad.. we both got Collectors Editions lol.

Lintini, I bet with more and more girls gaming now we will start to see more female friendly games too, more variety. And not just more girls, but more variety in ages and so on. I think that combined with the rising costs of development, the companies won’t have any choice but to try to make games with more options for what to do so they have more mass appeal. That or the opposite direction, and they will go with very specific tailored games. From a business standpoint, things can’t keep going as they are going – there have already been a lot of studios to go out of business and eventually there will be nobody left to make games if that doesn’t change. MMOS and downloadable addon content are the only things with a good profit margin anymore.

Monkey, “I was a kick ass tree”, hahahaha. I was levelling a shammy when I quit, soooooo fun.

Maybe when the next promising MMO comes out we can make…. the BinkyBunny guild? mwahahaha.

You are very right MKK ….WoW is getting more and more cartoony and very appealing to younger children. That’s why I really liked playing LOTRO …not many kids played it and was more adult based. I found Age of Conan had a bunch of punk teenagers playing on it….or it was my fault for trying to play on a PvP server. Star Wars is always more adult….kids these days aren’t as into it as the group that was that grew up with it and same with their kids. So I am excited and HOPEFUL that the new Star Wars MMO will be adult based and not have tons of little kids in it. There is nothing worse in WoW right now than reading trade chat. Ughhhh.

I wish there were games that were geared to female gamers. Not that I have any issues playing Counter Strike or some other games like that, but I really really liked having player housing, being able to change your toons looks ( SWG Image Designer ) Or selling clothing, or having your own dance group or band in a cantina. … Ohhhh I loved bio engineering in SWG and Creature Handling….ahhhh soo fun. They took that out of the game too. Blah. I just really liked that kind of stuff.

I really enjoy video games, but not really the RPG or MMO-type ones. My favorites are the Zelda series, Halo series, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Red Dead Redemption (probably my favorite game to date), and the GTA games. I really love anything that’s an open world game where I can run around and do whatever I want (Red Dead upped the ante by letting me do that while riding horses!). My husband and I will often play games together, trading off the controller (he’ll do the especially difficult levels/challenges) so I get some social aspect. I have one or two games that are mine alone, but I don’t play them nearly as much because I miss having someone to play with.

For computers, I do enjoy the Sims, though I haven’t gotten into the Sims 3 as much as the previous versions.

Ohhhhhhhh Elrohwen did you try Just Cause 2? I am in looooooooooove. I like sandbox action. And the wildly unrealistic blowing up of things.

I want to try RDD – it looks so fun. But I almost always wait a year for game prices to come down. Student budget, well not anymore I guess, but still. I’d rather wait a while and pay half the price so I can try twice as many games each year. Particularly because I find I have game ADD and don’t finish most games.

I agree – Sims 3 was interesting, but sort of… failed to hold my interest. Sims2 was not perfect, but it was more entertaining somehow. I don’t know, maybe its just that the novelty is gone now.

I’m mostly an WoW player right now. Busy life = no room for much else. I’ve played WoW for about 5 years now, and I’ve got an awesome group of friends that I raid with. Trying to finish ICC hard modes and get the achievement (woo mount!).
I originally started out as a hunter, switched to holy priest (typical girl mode huh?), but since Wrath I’ve mostly been an elemental shaman.

I spent this last weekend at PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) in Seattle geeking out. Saw a lot of interesting games. My husband and I are looking forward to the release of Super Meat Boy on Xbox next month. It’s kind of a weird concept, but looks incredibly fun.

I am totaly addicted to a MMORG called Puzzle Pirates .I know sounds silly but its so cute ..if you are a puzzle gamer I have been playing for almost 3 years .I never tried WoW mostly because Im afriad to get sucked in hehe like i dont play enough on PP .I also have a Wii Just dance is my favorite ,so much fun! But i have to play with just the kids when hubbys around he pokes fun at me hehe.I resently discovered Pogo.com and its fullof all kinds of differant games from cards to puzzles arcade and casino and im dangerously close to being sucked in lol

Kris&Koji, I haven’t even heard of Just Cause 2! I’m off to read reviews.

We finished Mario Galaxy 2 (all 242 stars!) a few weeks ago and now we don’t really have anything to play together. I get so sick of watching DH play stupid Call of Duty 😛 The new Halo comes out soon, and we’ll play that together, and then we’re going to use the $20 coupon from Amazon (for pre-ordering the game) to get Assassin’s Creed 2 I think, since I’ve heard really good things about it.

I’m really really hoping that RDD comes out with some single-player add-ons. The most recent GTA had some download-able add-ons that used the same world, but were like new game plots with different characters – I loved that and really hope they do it with RDD. I think they will, because the way it ends kind of leaves it open for so much more to happen. They seem to be focusing on the multi-player stuff, which is a shame because I personally hate the multi-player mode. Oh well. Some day I’m just going to start that game over from the beginning and re-play it all.

I agree that the Sims 3 isn’t as interesting as Sims 2. I actually love all of the changes, and being able to run around the town without load screens, I think it’s just not interesting because it’s not new anymore. So many people said the characters aren’t as good, but I don’t see that. To me it’s just not new enough, so my attention span isn’t there.

This is a random one, but anybody play Viva Pinata? It’s kind of a kid’s game, but it’s always received fantastic reviews on IGN and I love it. Haha. I don’t play that often, but it’s a nice relaxing game to pick up every once in a while. You basically attract wild pinata animals, get them to live in your garden, then breed them. Sometimes they eat each other, or get in fights, or whatever. I only have a few more species to get to finish the game.

I played WOW since open beta before the game even came out. I quit about a year ago though but I did meet my fiance through it 2 years ago . I played LOTR for about a year. Now I play Perfect World and Battle of the Immortals which are free MMO’s. They are pretty good with nice graphics. I would suggest Battle of the Immortals over Perfect World though. 

 

Forgot to mention that Battle of the Immortals has a cute bunny mount   There is a pink one with a carriage and a white one with a bow on it’s head.

I use to be a console gamer but just within the past few months I’ve built a new pc for gaming so now that’s hogging up all my time. My wife’s getting upset because I’ve spent so much cash on my machine

I’m not really in to any mmo’s. I have played a few rpg’s; Fallout 3 and STALKER. I really like the sandbox games also. Need for Speed, GTA4, Red Dead, just finished Mafia 2, Borderlands. Playing with others I mainly stick to shooters. Lately I’ve been hooked on Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

I’ve never played WoW and I never intend to, because I was introduced to Guild Wars first, and I’m now an MMO snob and hate the idea of paying a subscription. I like GW because once you’ve bought the game, you don’t have to pay any more fees. I go through phases of extreme addiction to capturing skills that I never intend to use, lol.

My husband got me Sims 3 and the two expansions as a birthday present, and I’ve played one Sim down to the fourth generation so far. It is muchly addictive!

I’ve been playing games since I was about 4-5. My brother that is 7 years older than me got me into gaming quite early. I don’t do it a lot nowdays since I have bunny to hang out with.

I play a lot of RPG, fighting type of games. Some horror games too. I am a big fan of Fatal Frame, Resident Evil.. I scream in the afternoon playing Fatal Frame with a friend.. don’t ask

I am thinking about getting a white PSP to take with me on the bus while I commute to school. I don’t really want to hear weird peoples on the bus  Plus the PSP has a lot of rpgs that I’m dying to play
