There is a Bald Eagle’s nest in my neighbor’s yard. I can hear them but they are hard to get close to for photos because the nest is very high up.

The young eagles now have their black and white plumage, replacing the brown feathers they have as young chicks. I call them eaglettes.

they look small but their wings span about 8′.

I do hope my neighbor never does chop down that tree!

They’re majestic Petzy. You never run out of critters lining up to make lunch out of your bunnies do you?

yes, one swooped down a few years ago and tried to get Lint before I knew they were there, before I got into the maximum security rabbit containment. But my dog barked in the nick of time.

Bald eagles are beautiful but scary! We have one at our zoo and it looks so evil!!!

Years back I used to pasture my horse at a friend’s place and there was an eagle’s nest in one of the pasture trees. We would see the two of them often. They couldn’t keep any barn cats around, obviously. It was really disturbing that they actually found pet collars under that tree a few times

That’s terrible about the pet collars… but I am fond of my eagles here. They eat mostly fish from the lake… I would wish they ate the weasels though.
