So, Hugo was doing awesome with his litter box.  He had one accident on Tuesday (his 1st day) morning in the kitchen.  So I kept him in there and he had his area that he is in when we leave or sleep.  Well, last night he was doing so well that I decided to let him run around the house with all the bedroom doors closed (those aren’t benny proof yet).  Not one accident!  I let him out for about 2 hours.  I am so excited.  Every time I turn around he is laying in a new spot in the livining room, dining room or he’s just back in his area even though the gate is open.

I just had to share the good news with someone!  Thanks for listening.

Brilliant! I didn’t believe what I read about bunnies being quite easy but I’m amazed at how quickly you can let them out and they just come home to do their business.

I think it all depends on the bunny. I think he’s loving his new spoiled life. He even just lays here for my girls to pet him without moving for 10 minutes at a time. He’s an incredible boy.

Awe! That’s great! I’m sure he is loving his new life if he was kept in a goat pen and garage before. Geesh.

So Hugo does awesome out and about. He lays around and goes back to his area. Yesterday he decided to use my kitchen floor as a litter box. I brushed it off as an accident. now after I got home this morning he came up to me while I was putting food away and peed on the floor right next to me! His he mad about something or have I given him too much freedom? He doesn’t do it in a corner. If that were the case I’d give him another litter box. Any suggestions?

Momo did that the other day. She was literally inches away from the litter box, looked right up at me, squatted, and peed.

I was like, “Are you serious?”

I doubt he’s mad at you. He might just be having a “rebel without a cause” moment. Don’t we all sometimes?

Yes… but we don’t all pee on the floor I buy sock bunnies and Hello Kitty… it amuses me to see the expressions on my hubby’s face when sees the place taken over by cuteness.

Well, I think both times he did it his pellet bowl was empty. Maybe he was trying to get my attention.

Is he neutered? If not, you will probably notice a big difference with peeing on the floor when you neuter him. My boys all stopped after they got neutered.

Might be just for attention. Can you try to not react to it? Clean it up, but not feed him right away? You don’t want to get into the habit where he pees, so you feed. That would be bad.

Yes that would be bad. I didn’t feed him right away. I was just thinking about why it happened and that’s what I possibly came up with hours later.
