I cannot recall a time when Larry has urinated outside his box, and I've had him since he was tiny. So I was befuddled when this morning I saw urine (confirmed with the smell test) around his water bowl. Now last night I did notice some change in behavior. He didn't come to his pen with the shake of the treat bag, which is something I can always get him to do. I gave him a belly rub with his head down between my arm and side, usually works for gas, and put him away for the night. The next morning he was his normal bound to the door when I get out of bed and run out the door when opened self. He was munching on hay in his box when I left him this morning.

So, I guess I'm wondering what the forums thoughts are. Should I be worried? He's about a year and a half, I think.

I think I would wait to see if this is a consistent pattern and if it is then I might consider first that he possibly has a Urinary Tract Infection.

It's possible that if it's just happened this one time, it's an accident. I would continue to monitor his behavior.

Another indication of UTI could be a straining to urinate or dribbles around the litter box because they couldn't reach it in time.

Thanks Sarita. That sounds like a good idea. I'll keep an eye out. This rabbit is going to give me gray hair. Isn't it silly how they become like children to us.

Sometimes they have something wrong which passes, and while you're wondering what is going on, the revert back to their cheerful selves because the problem worked its way out (literally.) I agree with Sarita to watch and see if it reoccurs, or if it was just something that gave him trouble but is ok now.
