I'm not sure how many members may live in the Lower mainland of BC, but if you do I hope you would consider coming out to help The Small Animal Rescue Society of BC's shelter bunnies.

With School starting and such, and 90% of the Volunteers driving over an hour or so to get to the bunnies, we've had a large decrease in Volunteers, and so are despritly looking for wonderful individules or families who would spend an hour once a month or so to come out and feed and play with over 60 free run rescue rabbits.

Saturdays are the 'full clean' days, that we need the most help with, but any evening Mon-Fri can also have extra hands for feedings.  Sundays we are open to the Public to view from 1pm-3pm. If you would like to learn more, pelase feel free to message me

Thank you

Andi,
I wish I could help, and you have me wondering if any shelters in my state might be willing to have volunteers for an hour a month. Where do you advertise to get your volunteers? I am wondering where someone local to me might be asking for any to help like that.

Unfortunetly we have found over the years the more we advertise, it's not volunteers or foster families we get but for each ad up to 10 people wanting us to TAKE their animal And well we just don't have the space, nor the man-power.
So, I think the majority at the moment is word of mouth. I am not the Shelter Coordinator, so i am not sure what all else they do looking/asking for volunteers.
I know I mention it at events to people stopping by our booths, any rabbit lover I may meet anywhere, and posting on like facebook and such. I am sure my friends are done with me asking for help LOL
We used to advertise in the local papers and even on Craigslist, we also had posters and such in Vet clinics. I honestly don't know a animal rescue organization that would turn down some help There's just not enough people to go around it seems. But i would check those areas, and a search online of who's near you and contact them.
