My quartet-minus-one is doing well. The first day after Mops was gone was the most noticeable in terms of Deirdra being bored and off her normal routine. She used to spend much time lounging with him and grooming. –She gets along fine with both mini rexes, but Lint and Neigey definitely have more issues now without Mops. With only Deirdra there to check Neigey, he tries to bully Lint around more than before.

I changed things in the pen, I took out some of the ground mesh since Mops had been the main tunnel-digger. I also got rid of the wrecked ramp.

Normally their access to under the bed is blocked but to change things up I opened it for them to get them interested and for distraction.

I put them back on pellets, as Lint’s weight is no longer an issue. The competition over the pellets is strong between Lint and Neigey.  If he had his way, Neigey wouldn’t let Lint eat any pellets at all. You can see how careful Lint is treading around the pellet bowl.

Aww.. Petzy, I am still very saddened by the loss of Mops…

From the videos, I can see that Deidra keeps Neigey in check. He looks a little bossy.

I’m glad that distraction is helping them. There ain’t nothing like seeing bunnies explore lol!!

I think I may use your idea with the carrier and stuff it with hay.

With that great setup the trio should never be bored! I love the end of the last video where Deidra and Neigy are both chewing on a blade of hay.

Your buns are so beautiful! Especially Neigey, even though he’s being a stinker! I’m very glad that they are all making out okay.

Neigey stop being so mean, and Lint relax! He is so nervous, he better stand up for himself or Neigey better lighten up! They look like they are doing well though, exploring and eating well!

I like what you do with the comb to keep Neigey in check at the bowl.
                        Do they always eat together?

Poor Lint! Fern is a bit of a bully to thistle, especially around lettuce, but thistle has learned to take a piece of lettuce and take it to the cage to eat. I hope Neigey and Lint can sort out their problems!

Since Mops died, I can’t bring myself to let them eat concentrated foods without watching them, like the pellets. I just wonder if this is what contributed to Mops’s bloating, having recently been put back on pellets and possibly eaten Lint’s share. I can’t be sure because when Mops was still around, Neigey did not claim the food as aggressively. For now, I’m trying different ways of serving the pellets to get Lint and Neigey to relax. I do see an improvement between the two mini rexes but it will be a long while before I trust them enough to let them eat unsupervised.

this works well to give Lint a peaceful dinner

                                Thanks, Brittany!

Lint is sticking with Deirdra much of the time, which is a new thing! So I wish for her to become protective of Lint like Mops used to be… Rabbits sure are complicated!

Wouldn’t YOU stick to her if you were a little bunny like him? I know I would! Deirdra will protect me! hehe

That is a cute photo of Lint and Deirdra! I don’t think Lint can stick his head any further into that little cup! He looks much more relaxed with the little cup though.
