This past Sat I went back to the Rabbit House Society to give eyore back. I was looking at other bunnies who are more friendly convinced this was just his personality. I couldn't do it. Even though there were 2 bunnies who were very friendly they were not him. I would have been his 3rd house. So I decided to lower my expectations and give him lots of love and time to get used to his new environment. Wow - this is the beginning of the 3rd week. I saw 2 bunny 500's last night. He jumped on the couch twice by himself while I was sitting on it and sniffed me he didn't stay long but that was progress. I laid on the floor and he sniffed my head and I felt his paws on my back and leg. Normally he would ignore me. He also walked by the couch stopped in front of me put his paws on the edge and sniffed me. I sat in his pin later to pick up loose hay and he jumped into it with me.
He is starting to show some personality little by little.
. I am very encouraged and am so glad I did not get rid of him. |

Aw! That's so great! Trust me when I say that you're going to see more and more personality the better he gets to know and love you! Yay : P |

I'm glad you decided to keep him. I think he's friendly but it just takes him awhile to feel comfortable. |

Ok, i'm a sap i got a little teary there I think it's wonderful you decided to give him some extra time to come out of his little bunny shell. Sounds like he trully appreciates all you're doing for him, and he's getting more comfortable to show you just how much he appreciates you. |

I'm glad to hear you are going to give him more time. Like I've said before, I have a rabbit that HATES me! Jessica has never quite warmed up to me, but we do get along. I had a much closer relationship w/ her bunny boyfriend, Leo, b/f he passed away. Even our Chewbacca was much more inviting/ warm than Jessica, but she too passed. I couldn't imagine my life w/o Jessica. We have come to terms with our relationship & I love her plenty. She's not the kind of bunny I wanted, nor had (sniff sniff), but she's still my little beast!
Get those pics up now! |

Yay! That is fantastic! I'm so happy you gave him another chance and I'm glad that he's feeling more comfortable in your house. It took Otto over a year to jump up on a couch, so consider yourself lucky ;-) |

I am so happy for Eyore that you changed your mind. Clearly he understands he is with you to stay and is very, very happy about it too. If he actually licks you after sniffing, those are kisses. He is definitely bonding with you and you will be very close in your own way now. |

Yeah, I agree that keeping Eyore was a wonderful decision for both of you! He obviously has an awesome home with you, and who knows where he would've gone had you returned him. i mean I know shelters screen their adoptive bunparents, but still... Anyway, he sounds like he's really relaxing and gaining some trust in you. In my book, bunny licks are reserved for only a bunny's favorite people! I've had my fuzzy lop, Nelli, for 2 years now- we adopted her when she was 4 months old, just a big baby furball. She still runs from me and acts like I'm gonna attack at any moment, I may only pet her if I've been VERY good (according to Nell) and even then, I'm just allowed to touch Nelli's front half only- absolutely no bum patting . Bunny kisses?!?! Not a chance- lol. So don't be discouraged- Eyore is warming up much faster then my Nelli is. And really, I love the way she is- a constant challenge . |

Glad to hear the update. The little monsters sure do have a way of wiggling into our hearts, even if they are No-Touchy bunnies |

So happy to hear! It's always worth it, to extend your caring energy towards an animal that has been unwanted in the past. You win Karma points, and of course you get to enjoy the company of your wonderful animal friend who would be neglected and/or dead if it wasn't for your attention! With my bunny I went from concerned disinterest (being the cage-cleaner) to complete infatuation within a month. He's very expressive and other bunnies may take more time. But it's always, always worth the effort! Thank you so much for providing a home for your bunny! And let's see those pics!!! |

Wow this is great. He just needed more time than some other bunnies. Probably was shy. Thats good he is coming around.
Keep sharing the good news. |
