I say speutered because her breeder said she’s a girl, the vet thinks she’s a girl, but they said they won’t know until they open her up.   I’m not sure I like the sound of it, but I know she won’t be fully litter trained until she gets fixed.  I’m hoping it happens pretty fast after.  She has stray poos all the time.  She does jump in her box on occasion to pee, even if her butt hangs out sometimes and she misses.  She tries!!

Anyway, well wishes are needed.  My mom would think me nuts for getting it done, so I’m not telling her.  It’s going on my Care Credit card so I can pay for it in time.

Here’s a picture for anyone who doesn’t remember.  She’s so tiny!  Under 2 pounds, but the vet tech said they spay/neuter gerbils and rats so….  I didn’t even know you could spay/neuter gerbils!  LOL

          Good luck little bunny!
How old is he/she? I find if you flip them over and they are over 10 weeks old, you will know if it’s a boy b/c the testicals will be looking back at you LOL I dislike sexing (sputered) rabbits, I’m not terribly good at it.

Gerbil neuters are kinda icky, they actually leave open holes. What sucks with gerbils is it’s common for them to self mutalate, ad dso after surgery care for them can be a nightmare. Easier to not get it done with them, is my feelings. Rats are a bit easier, though they can also self mutalate. I’ve helped with many spays and tumor removals on rats, all actually healed up super.

What a cuite! I’ve never heard of having a gerbil neutered either.

Vibes to your little Honey – keep us updated.

She is 4 months old now. They said she’s small, but not as small as a gerbil. I had a male and female rabbit several years ago and this is the same vet who did their spaying/neutering. I’m sure she’ll be fine. I’m just a worrywart!!

Thank you for the well wishes! I will let you know how she does. They told me to bring a baggie of her food for after and they are keeping her overnight to make sure she does fine, so I won’t have her back until Saturday morning. It will be a lonely Friday night, just me and the 3 cats.

Sounds like she’s in great hands!!! Make sure to bring her hay also! That’s usually the first thing they start nibbling on. Pellets they don’t always eat until the next day.

She looks so much like Monkey

Monkey is 1.5 lbs, so don’t worry about your girl being little, mine came through no problem

Just called the vet. Bunny is a HE. So no more Honey Bunny I guess. LOL They said I still could call him that, but it sounds so girly. LOL They said it went well. His teeth were fine. I asked them to check. They trimmed his nails. I can pick him up tomorrow morning some time between 8 to noon.
Thank you for all the well wishes He and I both appreciate them.

Hurray! Glad “he” made it okay. One good thing is the recoup time is much easier and faster for the boys then the girls. Maybe you could call him Homey Bunny instead of Honey Bunny? Just a suggestion. Healing vibes to your sweet little one!

Thank you for the update on HIM LOL :~) You can still call him Honey Bunny, I’m sure he won’t mind.

You can call him Funny Bunny, for being silly and letting you think he was a girl
