Soo...I came into the room where Annabell was running around and she was up on the sofa. That's fine. I actually thought it was k inda cute because she hasnt ever done this before. So I put the blanket I was covered up with ( I left for a moment , she took my spot) so that she wouldnt hurt the cushions. Well, she started to poop on the blanket?! Why, I have no clue. When she is on the floor she hardly ever has accidents at all so I was very suprised when she pooped on the blanket. I dont want her to continue this and if she does, I wont let her on the sofa. Is this because it is kinda new? Does she think she can go to the bathroom on blankets? We had one in the first day when we brought her home but she mixed up the box w. the blanket for the litter box and took it out. She hasnt really had exposure to blankets since then. But I dont want to snuggle up to blankets that my bunny has pooped on but I like the idea of her wanting to sit w/ me. Any ideas or suggestions?

This was just mentioned in another current thread in Behaviour. Some bunnies find soft absorbant surfaces irresistable. It sounds like she marked it with poop. It probably had your smell and possibly your body heat that could have triggered it. If you want her up with you maybe have a litter box near by and when she's with you and about to potty, prompt her to the box. If she doesn't know it yet, teach her the word "box" so you can get her to go without having to pick her up. Give her praise when she correctly goes to her box. Hopefully she'll learn that she can be with you on the sofa but toileting is not allowed. Bunnies are smart. Having said that, it's all good in theory and it may work but bunnies are also stubborn!

If she had never been up on it before, its totally possible she was just marking it. Monkey did that with our couch. Hasn't marked it in months now

I will have to try that. And I am not sure she just wanted to mark it because she did it again the other night. :/ I wasnt even up there and she hopped up and peed and pooped on the sofa. Which now means that we are a bit leary to allow her free roam of the front room because what if she continues to do this? Could this also be a sign that she is moving into adolecence? If so, will it continue when she is full grown?

OO yes, it could definitely be a sign. That's when Monkey started. It will hopefully stop after she is spayed, thats what happened with mine

Depends on where you live. I am going through this right now as I took in a rabbit that was surrendered and had never been neutered. Here in Chicago the price is a horrifying $350 to $400 (I assume the spay operation for females is even higher.) In Wisconsin 2 hours to the north where my parents live it's $110, so we're making the trip up in a week and a half.
Make sure you find a rabbit specialist. I assume big cities in general are expensive and smaller cities can offer the service for less. It's very important to get all pets fixed no matter what. I feel bad doing it but it's really necessary and their lives will be so much more comfortable. Good luck!

It was around $200 for my girl Monkey to get spayed here, prices vary from place to place, and from vet to vet. Your best bet is to call around and ask, and make sure they know bunnies too!
