So these past 2 weeks I have been sneezing like crazy, watery eyes and itchy eyes. I don’t know what would be setting me off all of a sudden…but I am really worried it could be hay since my brother came into my room and started sneezing as well. Although, when I drive around in my car I start having sneeze attacks too, I live in the hills and all the grass is dry now, do you think maybe it’s just the grass setting me off? I have my windows open in my bedroom 24/7 so that would kind of make sense… I’ve lived here for 14 years though and never have had allergies, and I also have a lot of animals that eat hay too and have been around it since in my moms womb cuz of the horses lol so I really have no idea but I am very miserable. Now I really want to pick up some orchard grass but I don’t want to close my  windows =/ I don’t know if that would exactly help much considering I am living in the hills/grass.  I also tried using nose spray and it’s actually not working at all. I just hope it has nothing to do with my rabbits and will pass at the season change into Fall. Any ideas???

You develop new allergies as you get older. Can get new ones in your 30s, so not having them before doesn’t guarantee you’ll be OK unfortunately.

Sounds like Hay Fever Season reactions. If it’s outside too, then it’s some growing thing common to your area, and usually is only during certain months of the year. August is a common allergy time for growing things, as is May. Ragweed, Goldenrod, very common allergens.

Also, mild allergies won’t produce much of a reaction, but be around several at the same time, like ragweed while in a dusty car eating something you are a little allergic to and suddenly you can have a BIG reaction. So probably whatever is growing in season is making your mild ones worse. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it doesn’t clear up after a month or two, when the growing stuff changes again. Lots of people never enjoy the spring or late summer due to allergies.

Sounds like seasonal allergies to me as well. I take Claritin every single day.

I might have to look into Claritin then! I think I’ll look into some other hay too just for kicks and see. Thanks gals!

Oh and don’t get older LOL since as RP says the older you get the more susceptible to allergies you become…growing old is so much fun!

The thing I like about the Claritin is that it does not make me drowsy like Zyrtec. I do think that with allergies things like hay and dust and the rabbit litter can exasperate them.

Did you bring your hay home in your car? It could be this batch of tim hay. Maybe some of it flowered bbefpre it was cut. An antihistamine should help you through.
