This is probably the dumbest question ever…..

Where are cord cover located in a store?  And what store can I find them at?

I can be a bit dense at times.  I have sort of looked but I have no clue where to find them so I give up.  You would think they would be with the extension cords and such but apparently not.  lol   Or am I just that dense?  (It’s a good possibilty.)

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in an actual store, although apparently hardware stores carry them. I’ve always ordered mine online.

Well…I’m glad I’m not the only one who has no clue! I don’t feel so stupid now for not knowing where they’re at in a store! LOL

I know I’ve found them at Lowes and I THINK they were in the electrical department. I did have to wander around aimlessly to find them though. No one knew what I was talking about when I said “you know those cord cover thingamajigs that you put over electrical cords so your rabbits can’t chew on them”.

Ok…I might go and look around lowes. lol I did an online search and all i can find are the flat floor ones which i don’t need or the citrus pet ones which eddie will eat cause he likes citrus. I did find some but they are for like industry cause for like a roll the cheapest was like $100 and I have no clue how long the roll is. Umm…don’t need THAT much. lol

I think you can get them in the packages with a small amount. I’m pretty sure you can. I looked on-line at Lowe and didn’t find them but then I don’t really know what they call them :~)

If you go to a hardware store (or lowes or homedepot would work too), find where they sell bulk clear tubing (you can buy it by the foot or yard). I can’t remember what size I get, but it is clear vinyl tubing, thick enough to fit a cord through. I then use a razor blade to slice open one side of the tube down the length and cut into desired lengths. I then use this to wrap around all the cords in my house. They bunnies may try to chew it, but its better than the cord itself. If they really go at the tube cover, you can put a little hot sauce on it ;–).

I use the same stuff as lwayne- I’ve always found it in the plumbing section of Lowe’s. WAY cheaper than the exact same stuff ordered from pet companies All you have to do is slice it open with a razor.

ok, i will do that then.

I bought the citrus scented pet ones when I first got eddie and he ate them anyways. So I figured cord covers were useless. But it turned out that he actually LIKES oranges which is why he ate the cord cover. I didn’t know this until about a month later when I was eating an orange and he went completely nuts over it. Always nice when their wacky and frustrating behavior suddenly makes sense. Doesn’t happen too often though. LOL

Orange scented cord covers…that’s interesting. Who doesn’t love a fresh citrus scent LOL including rabbits.

                              Apparently it’s called “Spriral Wrap”:

I bought those citrus smelling covers as well, never used it though. I am sure my Lop would eat it, he’s a little garberator.
Home Depot, Rona, any kind of Home hardware store usually has covers, and there are different kinds.

My new bun should be here in a week or two, and I’m starting to re-bunny-proof the family room. Thanks for asking the question, I needed to know, too.
