            Yeay for gerbils!
Do you know of Cheam Gerbils? That is my friends clan, I brought her first Nutmeg gene up from Washington, and she bred some of my favorite gerbils who have since passed. I had over 40 gerbils in my home at one time, 50% if not more rescues. I only bred once, trying for a Siamese, but I think my genes were off, I kept each gerbil from the litter. I have only 1 now, a Burmese male that was a birthday present from a friend who breeds in Washington.

Steppe Lemmings? They are pets? I never knew! What kind of pets are they like?
I keep Degus, I have 5 males, 4 in a large cage together and 1 Senior who get’s along with no one (even hates rabbits, grumpy bugger lol), but he’s my special boy.

Those are a whole lotta dogs. I am down to 7 Rabbits, 1 gerbil, 1 dwarf hamster, 5 Degus and it’s kind of nice not having SO much work, as it was when i had 40+ pets in the house, So I can appreciate the time/work/money it takes to keep a happy housefull of critters.

            Thanks for sharing your pictures!

yup, we actually just reccomended a guy to Sandy about a month ago, he lives in BC and contacted us when he couldnt find a breeder, while we are willing to ship that far, we told him to try Sandy instead lol. we breed as large variety of colours, whatever we find attractive! we are also trying to to get into the rarer genes like Wavy and dilute :p we have lots of Siamese, we are trying for Burmese though, and LCP agouti..we are also working on Polar Fox and Silver Nutmeg.

Steppe Lemmings are actually very similer to Degu’s, at least Diet wise, they are common pets in parts of Europe apperently! our boys are seperated now due to aggression..this is apoerntly common and you solve it by getting one neutered..problem is no vet in my city has ever heard of a steppe lemming lol they are really cool though, almost naturally tame, very curious and friendly, really funny to watch!

                      Very cool.
Sandy has been able to breed some amazing colours, because of me bringing up the Nutmeg (sp) Male, she bred her first DEH, which I had first dibs on, as they are my favorite and i had always wanted one. I had an amazing spotted Burmese from her as well, i have a thing for spotted/pied Burmese, the boy i have now came with his brother who was mottled burmese. My first Burmese i got from a breeder in Washington before I met Sandy, I picked up that female with her sister a CP Agouti (Mom to my litter).
Here are my photos of my guys before if ur interested – http://gallery.hot4x4.ca/Gerbils

As for the Steppe Lemmings, I would be nervous of neutering them to since they are not common here. Are their testicals ‘inside’ the body like Degus? Are they quite friendly with people?

All the pups in your picture are beautiful, I am sort of researching the NSDTR myself, i think they are beautiful dogs.

The only reason he wants one is to see if it will keep on jumping off the top of the couch.

I had no idea you could keep lemmings as a pet! That’s really cool. Are they people-animals, or more independent? I can’t imagine having that many critters to take care of, lol. I can barely keep up with two hedgehogs and my bunbun.

Steppe Lemmings are Voles not actual Lemmings. but yes they are awsome pets and VERY people friendly. the aggression is just male/male type of thing, if you have females your fine.

from more info we have a Steppe lemming website, you can read about them there

                                http://users.accesscomm.ca/k9furkids/lemmings/index.html

we LOVE DEH!! we have lots now..Daytona, Linden, and Racy are regular DEH’s, Caramilk is a LDEH, plus, Sage, Apollo and Manuka who are “Honey Creams”. and we have our very first REH in the next right now, Rem. in a split right now we have Spook(Schimmel) with his daughter to get some Schimmels, as we only have the one and he is not of our breeding, he’s from a breeder in Quebec. we also have our first LCP Agouti in the nest right now, a little male out of Desi and Spirit, we are so exited for him to grow up!! we have lots of lines were are working on…. we have our gg line, our ee line, our ggee line, our C(chm) line and our markings line ..going for lots of white on a dark background. and with our imoort this year we plan to branch out into wavys at least, and hopfully dilute and uw.
