I think all bunnies must do this.  Not very active during the day?

Honey comes out and sees me when I come into the office in the late afternoon, eats, drinks, gets some pets and then hops back into her kennel.  Until now, when I got this awesome pen yesterday, I never was able to see her as the kennel part had the door opening the other way.  It blocked her exit.

Look! Awwwww  with her little stuffed frog..her “baby” as I call it.

Don’t tell my cats, but I think she’s friendlier than they are most times.  LOL  I can’t explain it really, but she comes to me in the evenings and nights when she’s allowed free roam of this room.  I think she’s still too little to have free run of the house.  Not completely litter trained yet.  But she likes to run around me in a circle and then stop to lick my arm or leg or clothes. LOL  She has nibbled twice now, but it feels like a tiny pinch.  Hurts a little and shocks me more than anything, but I say OUCH!! really loud and she hops off a ways before coming back.  I’m really happy I gave buns another shot

How sweet! Yeah, my pair are lazy bums thru out the day too…

I’d definitely recommend you wait to introduce a much larger play area/free range until after her litter habits are better. You’ve got plenty of time, no need to rush things.

awww so cute. yeah my bun sleeps most of the day too. her active times are morning before her pellets and evening around when i feed her greens. i’m pretty sure because they are considered ‘crepuscular’ (correct me if i’m wrong bb’ers) meaning they are active during twilight hours at dawn and dusk when most of their predators are less active.

I always hate that when it’s my bed time, they still want to play adn be active, adn i have to put them away… lots of lost sleep with the “ok, just 5 more minutes” over and over LOL

Andi, that’s totally me too! And I try to get to bed before 9pm…so that’s a rarity since my bunnies gets especially hyper right around this time. So I just tell my husband to “yell” at me to go to bed haha…and then I get mad (jokingly of course) because I want to play! I do the 5 more minutes thing all the time…

So now Oreo is in the habit of chasing after me when I head to the bedroom because she knows she’s not allowed in there…and I have to play sneak in the room quickly without her noticing every night lol, or husband has to distract her… And then for the next half hour or so I hear her scratching at the door and floor to try and get in haha.

Good thing is, we don’t have to feel so bad being at work all day because I know they’re mostly lazy buns all day while we’re gone
