Ben calmed down enough for me to grab “him” and double check “his” sex… and I’m almost certain “he” is, in fact, a she.

So we need new names for her! HJ doesn’t want to rename her “Benjamina”, he just wants a new name.

Well, what are your requirements? Do you want a foreign name? A name simiar to Ben? A Plain Jane sort of name? What are some of her greatest traits?

Erm, we really have no requirements. He’s already rejected my suggestions of “Flopsy. Mopsy, or Cottontail”. I can tell you that we’re both really big nerds, if that helps?

Well, How about Addy? I know, stupid play on words, but still. Maybe names of flowers? Lily, Crysanthemum, Rose, Violet?

I like to pick names from my favorite fiction or historical characters. If I had a girl bunny….. I’d go with Whiskey.

Has he/she been to the vet yet? I’d wait to rename til you know for certain. But even if this is the case, a rename isn’t absolutely necessary; many people have rabbits with “wrong sex” names… it makes for a good story!

                             Leave it Ben.

My rabbits name is Stashu, it is polish for Stanley. She was supposed to be a he and I already picked the name Stanley. So I figured what the heck, we call her Stash and Posh for short…

This is why we called her Stashu (Stanley)

It may break your heart, but it really is in his best interest, Prince-ess. He wouldn’t be driven to mate 24/7, he’d be able to settle down and just be the bunny you love. He would likely stop spraying, which would make you both much more happy. His true self would be able to come through the hormonal tendencies, and you’ll be able to get him a friend down the road. You really can’t while he is intact, as intact bunnies are usually much more aggressive.

I completely agree with everything MonkeyBun just wrote to you. And remember, a neuter is a short and harmless procedure and he will be up and about in a few hours afterwards and a happy little bun for the many years to come. Not neutering means him being constantly on the look-out to find someone to mate. His hormones will drive him crazy, and although it looks cute to see him like that, it really isn’t nice for him.

You will do him – and you – a huge favour by getting him an appointment with the vet. I promise you, that you will be so happy afterwards that you did it. And yes, he will be much more happy afterwards.
