Art in the Vines

Address: Township 7 Winery, 21152 - 16 Ave. Langley, B.C. Canada
Date: Sunday Aug.29
Show: 11am to 5pm.

The Small Animal Rescue Society of BC (SARS) is hosting a BBQ at Township 7 Winery, selling a variety of hotdogs/sausages/ cookies etc. as a fundraiser. We will also have an informational table with SARS cards, pamphlets etc - interacting with the crowds to garner interest in our cause, & hopefully get more animals adopted/fostered.

A  Very pretty setting in the country, with the vines around us, hence "Art in the Vines".

So, if you like Wine and you want to help out some Bunnies, please stop by

Have you cross posted in some other online forums? I'm happy to do so in a couple if you like.

Just this one, i am not on many others.
Are there many other rabbit type forums that would be interested in soemthing like that?
I am not sure what kind of advertising the event coordinator is/had doing/done for this event.

What about on Bunspace? I'm not a member there but I believe you can post on that forum for events.

Yes, Bunspace would be good. There's a couple others... I'll PM you. They have large membership but not specific to house rabbits. Though there are members who are pro-rescue and house rabbit enthusiasts.

It was great!
I don't have the totals on what was brought in for the rescue, but it was a very well attended event. We had one lady who set up a booth and was serving Sangrea (sp) for donation, all for us I had just a 'couple' of those LOL
There were two live bands, one on each end of the property, the weather was nice, a little less wind every once and a while would have been nicer. Lots of booths, from jewlery to pottery and other arts, fresh flowers (Got myself a boquet), some baked good and much more.
I met a lot of nice people, including owners of rabbits, chinchillas and hedgehogs, some of which were interested in a companion for their current pet, so hopefully a couple of our fosters will find a home out of this

I brought PitStop, as he's just so sweet and laid back, nothing bothers him. We only had one inncident with unsupervised children who thought poking him with a stick would be fun, i was on top of that in a split second, with my angry face on, asking the boy if he would like being poked with a stick! But out of all the children there, i have to say all the rest were awesome.
(My Mother suggested i sit in the pen with a stick and poke passing children LOL... )

All and All great day, I got to educate a bunch of people on rabbits, and the situation on domestic ferals and what's going on to prevent that in certain cities, and why abandoning rabbits is a crule fate etc. And even the fact that rabbits are crappy kids pets.
Oh and i won two door prizes, and so did another of our Volunteers!
I will be back next year for sure!
