Probably an odd question, but is there a way to block certain posters so you don't have to read their posts?
lol... |

I don't think there is - can you just not read their posts? I mean you don't have to read every post. Or are you asking about if someone replies to your post? |

I'm an old grump LOL... I am doing that now, but if there was a was to block those (immature) posters, it'd be a lot quicker for me LOL. I am at work, and want to browse quickly when i can. |

I know that some forums have that ability where you can block a particular person so that they don't show up. The intention of this is if someone just rubs you the wrong way, you can still enjoy the forum without having to deal with a personality conflict. Our current forum doesn't have that ability, but we are way way behind with our updates which have many new features, some of which may be this feature you are talking about -- though I can't make any promises at this point. Sorry about that.

I don't think i would use that option myself, as sometimes people have questions or really need help, and I like to be able to help anyone if I can. The only forum option I really want is the ability to mark all topics as read, so I can stop trying to read back through hundreds of pages of posts lol. |

Interesting thought and I can't guarantee that I wouldn't use that option... and I'm talking about YOU Andi!!! LOL JUST KIDDING! I <3 you and your crew! I do understand where you're coming from Andi (I didn't know other forums even had that option!) but I think that would take away from the great sense of community that we have here at BB... |

Monkeybun, there is an option at the bottom of each forum section for you to mark all as read. |

In each section. If you go into say the lounge, before you click on any individual posts, scroll to the bottom of the posts list and there is a button that says "Mark All Read". |

New posts are in BOLD front... if you click the "mark all read" option at the bottom of each section, it will make the thread subjects regular font, just like after you have read one. |

Yeah I use that button, but a lot of other forums have one for ALL the areas on the sorta main page as well, so if you've gone through what you want you can click "Mark All Read" on the main page and it clears every psot in each section as read, not just the one section you look at. |

Oh... yeah you have to go section by section, which I personally prefer. If I'm done with one section I can "finish it off" by marking all read, and in the meantime, there could have been a new post I need to address in a different area. I wouldn't want other sections cleared without knowing what was there. |

Here's what I find is most efficient: I read the forum most nights before bed, so I use the "not read" button on the green bar above where it says "general forums." Then, when I've read every thing I think is interesting and I've skipped over what doesn't interest me, I click "mark all read" at the bottom. That way, I get to read what I haven't read, but it doesn't get more than a couple pages deep and I don't have to click into all the individual sub forums. |
