I just was checkin out youtube and found this video of a someone who trained their rabbits to go on the toilet.  He or she made a special toilet seat that the bunny could safely jump up on and use.  I've seen many unique bunny things, but this is a new one for me!

We started to train a cat to do that, but i never thought to try with a rabbit.  That is great.  I think Shuggy would be scared of the toilet though.

Markbun once posted this but it was good to see it again. Such gorgeous and intellegent bunnies. If I had a second loo this would be an ultimate goal of mine. Be good if mine would use the low litterboxes 100% first thought. lol

BB, will you be adding this one to the video gallery?

Oh, I missed Mark's post --well, this is not so new to everyone..but me.

Good idea to add it to the video gallery....eh hem....that we are still working on.    It gets pushed down on the daily priority list! BOO!

I may need to do this with Jenna. We've been having rain off and on for the last week or so and she adamantly refuses to go out in it to potty. What am I going to do in winter?? 0_o
The 'hold her in the air off the deck and shout "Let 'er rip!" idea' is beginning to look more likely every day. :/
Mimzy, Pip & Fiver...yup...my day is all about them. :)

I think the one thing with this special rabbit seat is to make sure that one bathroom always has it on or never forget to put it back on! Even if a rabbit could easily jump back out again I think that would be the end of training as I doubt a rabbit would be eager to try that again.

Wow, first of all -- I am in love with these two beauties!!!

I have noticed that rabbits like to potty in a hole;  members often report that their bunny pees where she digs. Mine had started to seriously dig in one section of their outside pen and I was mortified thinking they were planning to create a warren; but before I could line it with mesh I realized that what they had dug up was a toilet spot. They had been pottying in there.

Such beauties! That's interesting about the holes, but I guess with the mesh on that seat it's not really a hole. Well, it is, I just wonder if it seems like a hole to the rabbits.

That's awesome! I totally want to teach Larry that! It would be a pain if that was your only toilet though.....

^ They are belgian hares. 'Cept they're not actually hares, its just the breed name.

Ideally, you'd have a toilet for the humans and a bidet for the bunnies!

BB, I'm seeing the stores litterbox screen morphing into a deluxe toilet screen....what do you think?

Actually, I can foresee a problem with rabbits or any pets using these devices.  Some of 'em like to run off to the litter box with a treat or some item they shouldn't have. It could become like living with a toddler who likes to drop things in the toilet.
