The friends i got Mocha from have recently go a guinea pigs, (well the doughter did) and they don’t want them any more! and it drives me crazy! first off they get bunnys they breed them then when the fun is over they leave them out side in a cage till and just wait for her to die. then they get there 2 cat ( the first one got ran over by a car about 2 months ago) and its an out door/indoor cat and it started peeing inside by the garage door ( she lives mostly in the garage) and they only have 1 litter box and it is in the garage. so i said why don’t you just put a litter box in the house wh=ere she is peeing, and she  says “oh no no she is an out door cat she should know were to go, our other cat did.” and i am thinking in my head ” all cats are diffrent” ahhhh then they get these Guinea pigs (two of them a mama and its baby.) and they get rid of the mom because she is getting teritorial over the cage. so she has the baby and she doesn’t want her any more because she isn’t a “fun” pet. i am like you should have thought about that before you got her! her cage is in the dinning room were there is a lot of trafic ( people trafic) and whenever you walk by her cage she runs around and crams herself in a corner out of fright! the poor thing! i just don’t know what to do! i am NOT alowed to get a guinea pig and i don’t really want one, but i don’t know what to do or how to help the poor thing

        what would you guys do?

p.s. they have just gotten a dog lets hope they don;t end up getting rid of her to!

sorry for spelling mistakes i am just kinda upset!

Mocha, I don’t think there is anything you can or should do. Don’t take the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Maybe you should also not consider not being so friendly with these friends since they seem to upset you alot.

oh don’t get me wrong they are nice, they just don’t look into things really well… they just get the animals to breed and see the cute babys and then get rid of them! i guess i just love animals to much….sigh.

I agree with Sarita. However, are they buying or adopting these animals? Perhaps you could give the adoption agencies a heads up. They aren’t abusing the animals are they? Because if that is the case I would call animal services. I understand what is like loving animals so much, but just like Sarita said, don’t take the weight of the world on your shoulders.

no no no no no…. they don’t abuse them. they just don’t know how to take care of them. they get them from breeders or pet stores. but they took there cat cat to the humane society when they didn’t want here anymore though.

                  Well, that’s good to know!

I’m sorry you are getting frustrated with those people though! Perhaps you could some how politely say that you are there for them if they ever need “advice” before they get a new pet. Maybe that way you can educate them on the different kind of pets. That way you might not get frustrated and it will actually save them time and money as well.

Well, hopefully that’s true that they aren’t getting anymore pets. I would certainly NOT take this guinea pig from them. There are small animal shelters that take guinea pigs, so maybe they’d have space for him? Of course, that’s up to them to research, not you.

i think they would just give them back to the place they got her from.

oh no no. i do NOT want the piggy to much work.

Mocha, you can’t save them all, just as I can’t. But you can lead by example.
And if your friends are getting rid of another, it best be at a proper shelter. I hate when people just leave animals out ‘to die’. What I think about this practice cannot be worded in this forum without breaking the rules.

your job, Mocha, is to look after yours, and that’s Lulu & Mocha.

You didn’t do anything wrong mocha! She was just saying that the things she would like to say about this-“I hate when people just leave animals out ‘to die'”- would not be appropriate for her to say on the forums, that is all. No rules broken Mocha!

It’s hard to be an animal person sometimes in what seems to be animal unloving world. There are so many times when I just to scream at someone for the things they do, but I try to keep my mouth shut and not go all animal lover on them lol My cousin kept getting dogs, and kept giving them away for one reason or another, then they got a min pin which they kept OUTSIDE and it ended up getting out and getting ran over It’s hard for me to understand that some people don’t see animals as living beings just like you and me.. they are just objects to them.. and that’s sad. But we will always be happier because of the companionship and love we can enjoy from all of the animals and that makes us so much more better off than they are… It’s just sad that innocent lives have to suffer because people are ignorant…
