So if you are in melbourne Australia PM me and come lend a hand to catch a bunch of dumped rabbits!  If you are not in Melbourne but have any clue as to how to catch said rabbits PLEASE let me know!  Hoping to go down on a weekend to a park under the westgate where a small growing group of rabbits have been spotted.  One was almost caught today so some have not been down there that long, others have been down there longer and are going feral.

            *considers 8hr drive to Melbourne….*
Do you have anyone to foster once they’re caught?

You might find some tips on this site thru a search as there have been some round ups undertaken. The preferred method seems to be cornering them. If you have enough people you could walk toward the group holding barrier material or pen panels. Ideally cornering them in at a fence of sorts.
Some have hand success putting down a carrier with food in it and the rabbits have hopped right in! If they’re escaped pets, some might go for that.  Get an idea of when they are most sighted or most actively grazing and approach them then.

That is issue number two finding foster homes. This this weekend I will do recon at dusk and see if I can nab a few that are tame and foster them until other arrangements can be made. Then start forming a plan to catch the wider ones!

We are struggling to get people to come and help and also foster carers. I have been so busy this week so I am thinking it will be a scouting trip next week and then i will make a decision on what i do from there.
