Tansy Escaped and Peed on the Couch!

Tansy escaped from his cage again.  I can NOT figure out how he is escaping!  He peed on the couch which I’m not too upset about – he had to pee some where (I guess).   He gets out, but can’t get back in, because the pen is all hooked together.  ?????  It’s like he is a magic rabbit.

I just would really like to figure out how he is getting out of his xpen!!!!

However, I’m a little suspicious that he knows how to get in and out of the pen and the couch peeing was just territory marking, because I couldn’t find any poos on the floor and he didn’t act very interested in his water or food.  I would think he would be very hungry if he had been out of his pen all day.

My bunnies, if they really want to, can clear their 30 inch tall x-pen. If there are no holes or gaps for him to wiggle through I bet he is jumping it. How tall is your pen? Maybe try clipping a top on it (a sheet, or tarp) and see if that keeps him in.

Maybe have a permanent litterbox location outside the pen, just in case?

I figured it out! He was jumping up onto his lounge bench and jumping over. However he couldn’t jump back in! I just moved the xpen back a few feet and problem solved.

I got a new 2′ 5″ x 6′ 5″ truck cargo net in a pretty shade of blue to stretch over Dustor’s exercise pen which folds back easily when I need to enter the pen. They come in different colors I’m pretty sure.

  Mrmac, what tunnel is that that Dexter is lying in all curled up in the photos in your post?, my bunny would love that too, I’m sure.   Thanks !  Davey is adorable!

Lashkay, it is a cat tunnel that I found at the store on the base that my husband is stationed at! It is the only one I have been able to find like it, one that is just a single tunnel without all the jumps and scratching posts. They have a dark blue one also but don’t use it as much. Davey says thank you!

Mrmac, Thank you! Dexter looks like the definitive “snuggle bunny” to me in that tunnel. I would like to have an enlargement of the photo and hang it over my bed for those sleepless nights I toss and turn. Maybe I should get a tunnel to sleep in. After all, if you turn in a tunnel, the tunnel turns with you doesn’t it? The buns may have something there! LOL Sweet dreams, Dexter!
