Hey all, went out of town on Tuesday to the lake where my grandparents live. Just got home today. My brother was in charge of the rabbits and dogs. I called him and text’d him everyday making sure he was keeping up with everything.

Let me tell you I came home to a disaster of poop. He sure watered and fed them well….but he didn’t change the literboxes for 4 days…..

        I change them everday.

I had poop covering my entire floor and my bed had multiple pee stains and tons of poop. I am still doing laundry at 11pm.

I guess I should just be happy he did the most important things well? *sigh*

Even more discouraging news, on the way home we stopped by at the stable to check on our horse Opie. He was acting very pissy and pushing me and kicking his gate and biting the door. Then when my mom lunged him he was trying to gallop away and buck and do all this crazy stuff that he NEVER does. After he got his brain back he was cantoring and walking nicely – then when he was on the tie rack he proceeded to try to untie himself and eat grass. So…after he was put away and given his lunch….we go to fill his grain bowel and…all 3 bags of his grain which has his probiotics, vitamins, and joint suplements and wormer……the lady that was supposed to feed him didn’t. What the heck right? (my mom pre-bagged everything for her for each day) How do you just not do something like that when you were hired to do that. My mother is RAGING. No wonder Opie was acting like a mennace. Not only did he not get his feed that is given to him daily, he also was not let out for excercise for 4 days.  (He didn’t starve they do give him hay 3 times a day but it’s not good to just skip on the vitamins and meds for 4 days…)  So needless to say we aren’t counting on that lady ever again to watch Opie and I am sure there will be a huge stink raised about it at the barn. You can’t just say you will care for someone’s horse while they are on vacation then don’t do it? Seriously my mind is boggling.

I don’t know if your bunnies act like mine, but whenever I’m not home for a day, they actually go crazy with poop and pee everywhere. I used to spend one night at my parents’ place once a week (so I was gone for 34 hours), before I quit my job, and I would always come home to an explosion. If we went away for a weekend, there would be an explosion. And it had nothing to do with clean or unclean litterbox. They can have quite dirty litterboxes, while I’m home, and they still don’t have a need to go outside the litterbox. Only if I have not been home for a long period of time, and then they completely disregard a clean litterbox.

So, I’m just wondering if yours might be like this as well?

As for the woman looking after the horse? That’s is definitely not okay! I would be furious as well. Was a friend of the family?

oh no! I think my brother would be scared to show his face around me for a while! LOL! But the lady you paid to take care of your horse, that is terrible! Kind of makes me not ever want to go away! My bf gets upset at me when I petsit for my family, but I don’t want anyone else to because you never know what will happen!

The lady is a just a friend of my mom’s. They ride together and get together often for things…They just went together a few weekends ago to a horse expo. I don’t know, that lady is a dingbat.

As for the poop….it could be, they have never pooped like that before and this was the first time I have ever left them for over one night before. I bet they were upset.

Wow, I still can’t get over what that lady did!

I know I was just complaining to my dad about it.

Right now I’m trying to keep the rabbits off my bed. It’s not working out so well. I just heard digging in my sheets as I was typing this and shooed them off and said no more bed bunnies. Gah I gotta lay some foil or something down to keep them off until they can behave themselves on it. I don’t know where all this digging has come from all of a sudden but its ruining my sheets!!! And they BOTH sit together and do it now. gahhhhhhh!!!

                    Oh my gosh! That’s horrible!

I never trust anyone except my mother to take care of my rabbit.

Ever since I got my bunny, I didn’t went to vacation because I was and still am afraid to know what would happen to my rabbit!
