surprise!!!

have a surprise…… don’t worry it is not another animal i promise…….. mocha and lulu are bonded!!!!! they have been  together almost 24 hours with barely any chasing and almost no mounting!!! yay!!!!!  they are in my living room in a cage right now, but mocha just looks so hot! he is laying right were the fan is blowing and by a ice block…. i feel so bad but they have to be in that place for 48 hours. i am going to go read BB cooling of page and do every thing it says hopefully he will get cooled off.

how do you know for sure they are bonded i mean they seem bonded but idk. oh and when they move back in my room will there be taritory isues?

Congrats! What a nice surprise! And how nice for both you and the little pair.

There might be territorial issues when you move them back in your room, though I wouldn’t think so. Perhaps when they have been together for a few days in your living room to really have cemented the bond, you could try a session in your bedroom to see how it goes.

Well, honestly, if it was me I would just let them back into the bedroom now and see how it goes. I have no patience, and if something goes wrong, I’m ready to deal with it and bring them back to more bonding sessions. However, I’m not sure if I would recommend you doing that though.

So to be on the safe side, then yes, do wait 48 hours. Do they share a pen now?

Perhaps when you bring them back into your room, make sure they are hungry and that there are loads of good treats for them to concentrate on. And deal with it as it was a regular bonding session, so keep your eyes on them.

but the cage they would be in is a cage that they have both lived in before so that could be a problem.

i just looked over and mocha was licking lulu!!! ( if you didn’t know mocha has been the one who refuse to lick lulu and this is only the second time that i have seen him lick her. but who knows what they did when i was asleep for when i woke up they were hiding behind the litter boxes facing each other!!

I’d leave them in the living room for at least another 24 hours, just to be safe. Especially if the cage they will go to is not neutral.

This is a great development. I’m happy for you! It appears they have turned the corner. I agree with the others, keep them where it is working for them now. Then clean the condo (this is the one your Dad and you made?) and put them there after for their permanet living space.

They are not bonded yet. They are bonding…bonding… and after their cementing period of at least one week, you may call it a bond!!
Do not move them — stick with what works! You are one impatient bonder…

i am impatient but my mom is the one pushing me! i have to put them in there condo today! because for some reason i am not allowed to use x pens in the house any more! i asked her yesterday if i could move them in my room and not put them in the condo for a while but she said only a week, and now today she said i have to it today! i am sooo upset and i don’t know what to do! if i don’t do it they might be sent out side!!!

I replied in your bonding thread. stay calm and confident for your rabbis and move them into the condo. Don’t be nervous now, they may be just fine. I would try to change the condo a little like move things around, put down a towel or something new, add a new toy or box , or take out stuff… just to make it different. Use vinegar on everything to descent. Don’t stress out. You can do this!

i put them in the condo and they have been in there for 4 hours and have done great! mocha isn’t humping much and has not chased! but you never know what will happen tonight. ((((((( fingers crossed all goes well tonight!))))))
