It’s June 2nd omg!

 

I had the most AMAZING concert tonight. My solo was magnificent – it rang throughout the church. I got a standing ovation of about 500 people at the end. Seeing the first couple of rows of instrumenalists turn around to look and clap at me once the director had me stand at the end….the most amazing thing I will never forget in my life. To hear the crowds applause get louder…to see my friends turn at me and clap and cheer. I’ve been in tears all night running it through my head over and over. My dad…who was in the OLYMPICS….my solo gave him goosebumps and brought tears to his eyes…the man we tease who is just like Coronel Quatritch from Avatar the Movie…Mr. Tough guy….that’s how much my concert moved people…that’s how proud of me he was. My horn carried it’s sound throuhough the Church…my feelings…are indescribable. I’ve been sitting around watching Animal Planet for the last few hours and random tears fill my eyes and fall down of how emotional tonight was. We’ve been working very VERY VERY long and hard on this piece and tonight was THE night. My solo opened the entire 30min long piece with a gorgeous melody and  I couldn’t let my friends down – it had to be perfect, and it was.

On another note… (That pun may or may not have been intentional )

I can’t stand when people don’t clean up after their dogs. It’s one thing when you own your own house – there I don’t care what you do with your yard and if you want big piles of poo sitting around, fine by me. But when you’re at a park, or in the apartment complex, you’d better pick up your dog’s crap! I mean, my apartment complex provides doggy bags and trashcans at several locations around the complex, for heaven’s sake! And people are still so lazy that they won’t pick up after their dog. Someone has a very LARGE dog that they don’t ever clean up after. I have my suspicions as to who it is, but I haven’t caught them – there’s this guy that lets his very big dog run around the complex off leash (that’s rant #2) and I never see the guy carrying a leash or poop bags or anything. I mean, come on, first of all it’s nasty and unsanitary and unhealthy to leave poop around where other dogs and children can potentially eat and step in it (respectively – though I suppose a dog could step in it and a child could eat it. Blech ). You can get all kinds of bacteria and worms and who knows what else from feces…. And second, it’s just plain unapealing and makes my very nice apartment complex look trashy! I pay good $ to live here and so does everyone else… I don’t understand why people can’t take a couple seconds to pick it up. Sure, it’s kinda gross, but I’m not telling you to TOUCH it, a plastic baggy does the job just fine, and you can buy those cute little baggy holders for the leash for 5 bucks and the bags come out to like 8 cents each when you buy them on sale.   And if the “ick” factor bothers you that much that you can’t wait until you get inside to wash your hands, carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer.  Goodness. It’s like using the toilet and then not flushing!!!!  It’s part of the responsibility of having a dog, if you can’t handle that, then you don’t deserve a dog.

Sheesh. And on to rant #2. WHY dog you let your dog off leash?! No matter how “well behaved” or “well trained” you think your dog is, anything can happen in a split second. And why oh why do you think it’s ok to just watch as your dog runs up to another woman (me) and her dog on a leash (Nick)?!

1. For all they know, Nick could be VERY aggressive (which he’s not, though I have noticed some signs of some dog aggression in him, growling and hackles raised at certain approaching dogs and also whining and yipping, which concerns me, but I’m going to work on him with some socialization and hopefully he’ll become more confident around other dogs).
2. OR Nick could be sick (which he was – I don’t even want to count the number of loose dogs Nick may have given kennel cough to!).
3. OR Nick could be not up to date on shots and I don’t want him interacting with other dogs until he is UTD on everything (which he is – he still needs another parvo/distemper booster and I REALLY don’t want to run the risk of him getting sick).

Up until now, I haven’t said anything to the owners, just tried to keep moving and leave the other dog behind, which frustrates Nick to no end. But enough is enough. I’m going to start speaking up for Nick and myself. I’ll just politely tell those nincompoops to catch their dog because Nick isn’t UTD on his shots and I don’t want him exposed to anything from other dogs. It’s not just Nick catching something or being attacked that I’m worried about. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, a loose dog is at SERIOUS risk of being hit by a car, no matter how well trained the dog is, something could catch its attention and it could run out into the road before you can stop him. The park that we frequently walk in is surrounded by about 500 ft of dense woods on one side and a VERY busy road just on the other side of the woods…. on the other side of the park is a large river that gets VERY high and VERY fast when it gets rainy. If the dog doesn’t get himself lost in the woods or get hit by a car on the road, he could find himself in over his head in the river and the owner would be just too far away to help the dog in time. I just don’t understand it. Nick’s training is coming along, and he’s getting very good at the “come” command, but I will NEVER be comfortable letting him off leash, no matter how good his recall is.

 

Sorry about the ranting. Lol. I just needed to vent, and while you guys are all my best bunny buds, I know several of you have dogs, and that you all will understand where I’m coming from.

Sorry to come to this post late, but that is wonderful about your concert.
It’s so rewarding to receive recognitiion for what you love and work so hard to achieve. Congrats!

I got paid a week ago – and it all went to the rent. Now I’m tight for another week until the next one. The one before that felt like “yes – shopping!” and now I am too tight so I understand being held back. But for bunny stuff…well…getting that box in the mail sure can be fun…*rolls eyes*

Meh, honestly, there’s not much out there – no offense to the full time Indiana residents! I’m moving out there for an internship – this is my 3rd summer internship with the company. Ugh… finals! I go to a school on the quarter system, so we always finish for the summer later than other schools… this is finals week at my college and it’s rough, lol. I had one monday (computer science & engineering) and one tuesday (electrical engineering) and two coming up today/wednesday (mechanical engineering – thermodynamics, and psychology). What stinks is that my body is crashing. All I’ve wanted to do for the past week or two is sleep. And as a result, I have even less time to study. I physically can’t get out of bed when I need to anymore because I’m so tired. I’m completely wiped out from the school year, and this quarter has been particularly busy and I was taking a heavy course load. I know at semester schools, they take like 5 or 6 classes a semester, but keep in mind that the quarter is only 10 weeks long, so classes meet, on average 3-4 times a week for 1 -2 hours per class. Anyway. I’m just trying to get though my last two finals, but I have to stay up all night to pull this off – I prolly shouldn’t be spending my time on here then, lol. I made a run to get some more soda (I don’t drink coffee) so so far I’m doing alright, but man… this is rough. I can’t wait to be done tomorrow – I’m having dinner with a few friends right after my last final, and then I’ll probably come home and sleep for 20 hours! My record was 16 hrs…

lol! I really like that show for some reason. It’s just such a strange thing to think of someone not knowing at all they were preggers. Lot’s of babies on this show got “plop” into the toilet….. That would so suck to be that kid …bringing home their first bf or gf and their parents tell the famous story of them being born into a toilet.

My boyfriend is the one that gets sick during the summer

He got it last Monday, and since I work til Wednesday, he was over it. He has a super immune system and doesn’t get sick to often. I guess his body wasn’t over the cold by Thursday and I got it by Saturday night

I slept for 14 hours.. meh.

I feel bad for little ChaCha  I’ve given her veggies and went to bed  I hope she isn’t too mad at me..

Funny story from this morning…
There was a pile of towels by the bunny room door, maybe a foot and a half tall. It had been there since the night before without either of my boys messing with it. This morning when I get up Warri was sniffing it a bit and seemed pretty interested in it. I go to the kitchen to get them breakfast. Maybe 2 minutes later I go back to their room and there had been a towel avalanche! The towels were scattered all over and Warri was sitting a bit away from it looking quite freaked out. I think my poor little guy tried to climb the towel mountain but wasn’t able to make it. Either that or Peepi tried to climb it and knocked all the towels onto Warri.
I have a feeling Warri will be very cautious around towel piles for a while.

Oh I guess I should have made an official post. Not very exciting. Couldn’t handle Bee clawing the cage anymore and she’s out and about. Her and Indy are just fine. I guess we are bonded now officially? I was hoping for something more epic and climatic but it was like nothing at all. They are both snuggled up together as we speak.

Hello JG  Jersey still being naughty when it comes to her litter habits or is she getting better?

We got the dog last week, and he is taking so much time. He follows me even if I go to the toilet. And I miss the bunnies so much, who are stuck in the bunny room until I am ready to introduce them all to each other. And Freddie and Karl are caged at various times, so that they don’t meet ’cause then they fight, so I’m stressing completely. I think I mentioned a good while back that I quit my job, so that is good. But I’m busy setting up a webshop on my own, while also looking for a job around here.

You can see Laki here – he is very happy to be off the streets of Greece (sorry about the choice of music – the video was made for my mum). He has calmed down a lot though, so I think I can start introducing him and Molly.

Mmm, the joys of bunnies! But when it comes down to it, I guess they are worth it. The last couple of months when Jack struggled with UTI, he peed everywhere all the time. And it wasn’t exactly great, but I wouldn’t be without that time.

Although it is a relief when you have litter trained rabbits!

I guess you have to move one day in order for the little girl to behave  A new unknown place and new habits should help.

a-ha! That could be the reason why. It’s all to meant to lead me to moving! I’ve been here too long too. Time for a change though I can’t move yet. I had J&R up at my parents a few weeks back and she was still touch and go there too. She had been there before but not for some time. Rumball is marking now too… To compound things, they’ve been kept out of their area because I’ve been tililng, so they are showing their confusion. I can forgive them that.

I let my bunny out for 3 hours last night and she was fine. She didn’t come near me much, I think animals have a sense when someone isn’t feeling so well  

I’ve been going to sleep early the past 2 days. Yes, Karla, I’m craving sweets

Hey guys!  I haven’t been on BB that much lately but I thought I’d add some cute pictures on the small talk thread

I recently have been leaving the laptop in the office/bunny room and it’s funny to be on it while the bunnies are behind me.  I heard something and usually Sandy or Archie are flopped over.  Or sometimes I can hear Gracie snoring!  A few days ago I turned around to see Sandy flopped over on the ramp!  Such a silly bunny!  

I was giving her raisins in this one…she loves them so much she’d probably try to jump out of the 3rd story of her cage to get them hehe!

And this was just a few minutes ago.  I heard her flop over and she just looked so cute!  She was pretty out too until she heard me and her head popped up.

 

Archie just flopped over and his eyes are almost shut and Gracie is hiding behind the ramp, I think she’s asleep, I can hear her teeth griding a little.  Gracie has tonight and tomorrow to take her meds and she’ll be all done yay!  I said earlier today to my husband that it seemed like Gracie was doing better not peeing and then Archie peed (because I was cleaning up a pee stain in the corner so he decided to pee on the ramp instead of going all the way down to the litter box) and then there was pee next ot the litter box a little bit ago…so I spoke too soon I guess  

Other than that, not much going on…I’m researching about a career in real estate but we’ll see how it goes.  I’m a little scared but we’ll see if it’s the right job for me or not.  I’m waiting to hear back from a broker to talk to him about it.

I’m used to it now.  First time I saw that happen was when I was 11 with my first rabbit…scared the poop out of me!  And I had just got him, I thought I did something wrong but he was just really happy that I got him

I scared Moosie today. I took a shower.. and forgot to grab a towel. So, no towels in bathroom. Had to dash across the apartment nekkid to the bedroom, and startled Moosie lol. He dove for the protection of his sheet of paper, and he hid there for a good 10 minutes. Silly man.

…guess its time to get my butt to the fitness centre.

I posted this on Facebook, but .. tonight, I was laying on the couch in the living room, with my Harry Potter book next to me, watching the Tonight Show. I had let ChaCha out to get some of her exercise in. Out of NO WHERE, she decides to run run run and all of a sudden JUMP onto the couch, BENDING my book cover and runs to my feet, waiting for a pet.

I was actually very pleased with my bunnies last night! I let Hammer and Lucy out in my room and left to take a shower for a good 30 minutes and forgot to pick up my book from the floor. There were a zillion poops all over the floor for no apparent reason, but my book was surprisingly still intact. The last time I left a book out they treated it like a phonebook and I had to buy another copy just to finish reading it lol.

I love the pic of the bunny flopped over sleeping. Baxter scares me to death atleast a couple of times a day. He sleeps like that but with his eyes open. He seriously looks lifeless. I always have to make a little noise or poke him to make sure he is okay. lol

Karl did this today! I mean, I am used to bunnies flopping, so I don’t know why it creeped me out so much today. But usually, Karl gets up if you get near him, but he didn’t do that today. And so I went over to him looking at him and started mumbling to myself about him being dead and all (I’m the weird rabbit lady who talks to myself out loud!). I even had time to think about what I would do now with one bunny less haha. And still nothing happened. And just as I began calling his name gently to see if he really was dead, THEN he got up. Phew.

uh oh… a ambulance just went past our house and in the 2 years we lived here i have never herd one! i just herd it cross in front of out our house honking! i hope every thing is ok!

Just a few minutes ago my husband looked outside and there was a wild bunny by the oriental grass and tree in our backyard (it’s 3pm ET right now and we usually don’t see them out during the daytime). It was laying down with it’s eyes wide open. It’s unusual to see them even laying down so calm like that so just to make sure it was alive I went outside and came about a foot next to it and then he/she popped it’s head up and ran a little. I grabbed some mint next to the tree and it saw me again and took off to the pine trees. I feel bad I scared it off but the poor little thing had me worried! It’s in the 80’s, so I guess it was just cooling off under our tree. Didn’t look like a full adult, maybe a teenager.

I’m so bored tonight! It’s Midsummer’s Eve here, and everybody is out in parks or at the coast to celebrate at the bonfires. And I’m stuck at home with a dog that is feeling unwell. It’s like being at home on New Year’s Eve – you know everybody is out having fun, and you are the only one at home

So, I’m watching Haunted Honeymoon – with Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner. 1987 Does any of you remember that one? It came to my mind the other day, so I decided to get a hold of it.

I’m taking over this thread now LOL. I rarely post pictures of Molly, so now it’s time. They are taken with my mobile camera today, so that is why the quality is so poor. But I still think she is the most beautiful bunny girl in the world, so she needs some exposure on the internet

Here Molly sees Laki for the first time. He is sound asleep after his surgery, so it was easy for her to hop around on the bed and check him out.

And psh… that ain’t a mess. I’d post a pic of my bedroom right now, but then I’d have to fend off the people from Hoarders. lol. Luckily my mess is temporary in there while we get the computer room set up right, and then a new dresser that my clothes will actually fit in for the bedroom… *sigh*

On a different note.. finally got a call yesterday from the insurance people about the accident last year involving SUV and computer room. They are ready to offer us a settlement… of course, i was asleep when they called so they just got the machine, and 2 calls back have just gotten their machine.. gr. >.< Wonder what they will offer…

Skibunny what happened to your wild bunny?

So far it’s been coming by the same spot.  I had to get it to move because my husband was mowing the lawn today and I got a foot next to it and it looked at me and hopped off a little and then ran towards the pine trees and higher grass that he doesn’t mow.  It’s our “adopted” wild bunny hehe!
