Last night my friend found a pygmy rabbit outside her door.  He/she had escaped some dangerous prey and had no fur on his/her rear end, some of it still tangling off with skin.  My friend called me up and I went over to look at it.  She though it was a baby because it was so small, only a couple of ounces (size of a tennis ball).  To me it looked fully developed and looked like a pygmy rabbit rather than a cotton tail baby.  His/her limbs were all ok and looked fine from the front.

I advised my friend to take it to our vet hospital (I know they take in wild animals).  She did so this morning and said the bunny ate all the lettuce she gave it last night.  Hopefully the hospital will put him/her on some antibiotics and let it recover his/her fur back before releasing it back into the wild.

Oh, I bet he was cute – so glad he escaped. Vibes to him that he recovers and can be released.
