Here’s an updated list of companies that test on animals. Please avoid these companies. They hurt and kill rabbits and other animals. Sometimes it’s a bit more difficult to find products that are cruelty-free but it’s worth it. Don’t support animal testing!

EDIT: Misread the post. Thought it was a list of non-testing companies

The thing is that most companies today actually don’t test on animals…they don’t have to as most ingredients have already been tested. Also, the companies don’t test themselves – their suppliers do. So, that is why it is a bit tricky. A company might say they don’t test on animals, but they just get their suppliers to do it.

In the EU all cosmetic products are not allowed to be sold or marketed if they are tested on animals from 2013. Use of test animals is prohibited from 2009 – in cosmetic products that is.

In the UK products have not been allowed to be tested on animals since 1997. So go for British products if you want to be sure.

That’s true Karla, many companies try to trick you by labelling as “this product is not tested on animals” when some of the ingredients have been.

Check out  http://www.leapingbunny.org for a list of cruelty-free product alternatives. They will even mail you a Pocket Sized Shopping Guide which is really handy.

So sad that it is such a long list! You would think that with modern technology there would be no need for animal testing! Luckily I don’t really use any of these products…maybe just 1 or 2 that I can easily be changed. I think the one that shocked me the most was Bath and Body Works. Especially since it says NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS….or does it say FINAL PRODUCT????  How sad since I really like their Pumpkin Spice scent during the fall season…
