I was reading other stories of how to move on from a loss.^^ This is how I remember my Pietro, Pete, Pete-a-leet, Houdini.... Hes with me every day. And I get to see him hanging in my living room. I still get sad, but I have an amazing lil bun now who lights up my life!

(Yes I know he looks like Piccachu, but I swear thats how the black on his back was!)

That is a nice memory you have of him, and now he will never be forgotten. He must have meant a lot to you.

I plan on getting a bunny tattoo, not one of either of my bunnies specifically, maybe just a silhouette or outline of a rabbit. That way I don't have to get one for each of my furbabies over time

My memorial to each individual bun will be little pillows that I will make and stuff with the fur I brush off of them. I have little baggies of fur going for each of my babies right now.

Judging by your tattoo, your Pietro was a cutie

MB, what a cute thing to do. How big are those pillows?

I remember when I was a kid I took the stuffing out of a stuffed toy and filled it with the fur from my bunny whenever I brushed her...I still have that stuffed toy somewhere, I think. So, it would always have her smell and she was always with me after she passed.

They won't be big pillows, just little things to sit up on the fireplace mantle. I'll probably sew the name of the bun who shed the fur on each pillow. It will be awhile before I have enough to stuff the pillows. Once I do, I'll have to take pics and post em May be months though lol.

I think a tattoo is a wonderful memorial. I strongly considered getting a bunny tattoo of my own design after my Binkles died. Actually I probably still will at some point, I'll just have to convince myself.

Okay. This is really bizarre and this may not be the best topic to share this in, but I have to tell you because it's so bizzarre. I've just recently adopted a new rabbit from a lady who'd named him Peter. I deemed his full name 'Pietro Raffaelle Agoutii' as I was learning about the cathedral of 'San Pietro' in Art History at the time. Peter (Pietro) is white with dark grey ears, spots over his eyes and face, and spots in a line down his back. I live in Florida, and am also moving to Orlando within the next two months. xD Just had to share that.

@MonkeyBun- thats really cute! Deff share pictures in the future. I am terrible at sewing, or I would steal that! Plus at the rate Indy sheds (newer bun) I could probably stuff a large pillow by the end of 1yr.

@Karla- I didn't have pets growing up, so it was a big deal to me when I got him as a birthday present years ago. Best birthday ever! I had no idea when I wanted a pet bunny how much fun it would be! But i don't think I will continue to get tattoos of all my buns.... I might run out of room one day.

@Binkles- that is very weird!! I got the name off of a video game >_< I am actually moving out of Orlando w/i the next 2 months.... curiouser and curiouser.

Oh!! And back-reading I noticed that MonkeyBun had EXACTLY the same idea I had about the fur pillows!!! 8D I can't believe someone else other than me has been doing this! I started saving Binkles' shed fur when she was like, a year old and I've always collected Little-Bit's shed fur in a baggy. The only thing holding me back from actually making the pillows was....well...I guess I think it may be a little weird now. ^^; Probably a complex my mom gave me...my mom tells me all the time that certain things I do about my bunnies is weird. Of course she just doesn't understand some of them, but others I give her a little more credit for...maybe too much credit, I don't know.

Megrat -that is quite curious indeed! May I be so bold as to ask if you know of any good apartments (low rent) on the east side who allow bunnies? I have a few in mind but...only a few. The rest are either expensive, dirty, or crime-ridden. =x

With the way Lainey sheds, I could stuff many pillows!  I did save Gulliver & Lainey's nails from their first nail trim...

I love the tattoo! It's a very sweet idea.

The bunny pillows... a little morbid, collecting fur for the purpose of memorializing them despite their currently being alive, don't you think?

I have boxes for each of my ex boyfriends. I made one for my current boyfriend just bc I had a matching shoebox on hand but have qualms about putting anything in it. I feel like it's bad luck.

Nah, I don't think it's morbid at all. besides, it will be rather hard to get the fur once they are gone. It will be nice for me, to have a little pillow to hug when I get sad about them being gone. My own little memorial to me babies, having a part of them stay with me always.

Monkey, I really like this idea using the fur they shed anyways in this way. Plus, sometimes bunnies remind me of pillows, so squishy and round. I'm not one for memorials but I really like your idea!

What a beautiful and very very cute tattoo.

He in no doubt was a very special bunny - and very deserving of this remembrance!

and...GASP...you have an Indy? I do too!
