our name is on a list  of volunteers   the seniors at lunch  sal

thats the meals at the clubhouse.  so friday we get a call to help out with the postal food drive.           So comes saturday n we go.  we r sorting the  bags of food into 3 categories n putting it into these big big wooden boxes.   We were to have a 2 hour shift.  Come time to go we decided to stay.   We stayed 6 hours. Til the end.

There was a small petting zoo to come to where we live.  We didnt come cuz we dont much care for snakes. I did plan on going but was having fun volunteering and decided not to go.

We see these people everyday n all they do is complain anyways.

Seeing new faces was fun and meeting new people was also fun.   We had drinks there and some shade to sit under between the trucks of food.

My back hurt when I got up that morning so I laid under the tree.  I got plastic bags from the food deliveries and put some ice from the ice chest in it and had a cold pack.  Tadaa.    It helped and when the trucks would come in up we went to help.  Then rest again with a book to read.

Isn’t that neat how when you go to do something you can always  or almost always find a way to do it.  And be comfortable.

Plus there was a plant sale n I got a beautiful angels trumpet tree.   Those r the trees that wiccans of centuries ago would boil the seeds and drink the juice causing hallucinations or spiritual trips.

Me I just like the fowers  lol   No seed juice 4 me.  Doing a good deed paid off.

Oh also we got to take a few  things home.  I saw some craisins n thought of the buns.   So yep they came home.    lol n that vwas our weekend.    With rest on sunday  lol

Oh yeah we were talking to the volunteers n one had had back surgery too.   I said it seems the people with health problems volunteer but the healthy people dont  we had a good laugh.

That is funny that the healthy people many times won’t help out half as much. I think you are right about that. Maybe they don’t know how to appreciate the little things (yet).

That sounds like fun! I donated a bag of food as well to that food drive. Sounds like you benefited as well – volunteering can be fun sometimes.
