Hey guys, just because I’m on holiday doesn’t mean you cannot create a new small-talk thread

So, time for some new small-talk.

Molly is a real pain today. She is eating the wallpaper (never seen her do that before) and the flooring, and quite a few cords have been chewed while we have been away. I cannot give her any more cardboard boxes to take her mind of the cables and wallpaper as the whole bunny room is completely filled with nice boxes…

Other than that, we got a dog. It is so funny. I guess I have commitment issues, because ever since we said yes to the dog, I’ve been feeling sick, and I keep refering to the dog as “it”…I’ve even made sure that the dog is in my boyfriend’s name. Well, I will get over it once we get the dog home, I guess – when I got my cat 7 years ago, I couldn’t sleep for a week because it freaked me out so much

        So, chat away

Okay, but no laughing is allowed He cannot help being such a weird mix of a supposedly a toller and a corgie. We have adopted him from a Greek shelter. He was living outside the shelter though along with chicken and geese without chasing them, and we even put him in the cat area, and he just sat there calmly looking at them. So, although we still need to keep an eye on him and the bunnies, I am sure there will be no problems.

its a bed meant for a cat or a dog.. but it looks heavy so chacha can’t tip it!! plus, it has covering, so she can hide and lounge in it

i might have to end up taking the ‘armarkat’ logo off and find a place online to sew in ‘chacha’ instead lol

                    That looks amazing! Lucky bunny!

I bought something less fancy like that for Karl, but he keept peeing in it, so I took it from him eventually and threw it out. His hormones hadn’t quite settled down back then, so I probably should have kept it and tried later on. But just a warning, as Chacha might be pee as well until the hormones settle.

she has never peed in her little bed i gave to her. she just tries to stretch it out (shes a bit too big for it now lol). will see how it goes.

my friend got her lionhead a similar bed, but its black. he loves to lounge in it LOL!!

Hmmm, you get a new dog and suddenly your bunny has become destructive. You don’t see the coincidence?

That dog is absolutely adorable! *jealous*

I tried to give Hatter a bed….he could care less! I put it in his favorite sleeping spot (under the coffee table) and he literally pushed it out of the way.

Hatter has discovered a framed poster that was wrapped in packing paper behind our couch (it’s from when I moved to CA 2 years ago!!!). Anyway, he has done a GREAT job of unwrapping it for me. I think in another week it should be fully unwrapped and then I can hang it up somewhere. HAHAHA  I must admit, it has become a favorite game. He tears off large pieces of the paper, he tosses them to me and I shread them up and “rain” them down on him. He goes crazy…..funny guy!

Haha, MarkBun, that is giving too much credit to the bunnies…’cause I haven’t told them yet that we are getting a dog next month. So unless they are psychic there really isn’t need for them to be destructive about it.

Other than that, it has been a busy day ’cause Karl decided to join in with the destructiveness. I did read that this is expected after the loss of a bunny, so nothing to do than wait it out.

Hatterbunny, what a great game you two got going on. It sounds so cute.

Your dog is so frickin cute! I love both tollers and corgis, so I think he’s perfect 😀

And remember my crazy posts about not keeping Hannah? Yeah, I can totally relate. I didn’t feel anxious at all when we got Otto, but I definitely did when we got Hannah and I know how you feel. Hopefully it passes soon.

I got Otto a $10 cat bed when we first brought him home and he never used it. He would throw it all over just to get it out of the spot he wanted to sleep in. Now that we have Hannah, he loves the bed. *eye roll* It’s so funny. Unfortunately it’s a bit small for both, so Otto will be stretched out and then Hannah will try to squeeze her fat butt on it next to him and squish him while he just lays there and deals with her sitting on him. Or she’ll just put her head on it next to him. It’s so cute.

Karla – It is fun, but messy….nothing a vaccum won’t clean up! I just don’t know what’s gonna happen when he has no more paper to tear off. My husband said I should just re-wrap it for him!

The beddy is really cute, Brittany. Where did you find it? And some healing vibes in advance for Chacha’s spay! (((((((((((((((Chacha))))))))))))))))

I think I’m going to be up all night. Jenna had her dental today and with the new vaccine they gave her, she’s not looking so hot. I was just starting to get some sleep back too.

Saw my son today for the first time in weeks. Looks like he’s losing weight and boy was he scruffy! I told him to go shave, for the love of Pete. He doesn’t have anything even like a full beard/mustache yet and he’s 20!
My daughter says that when he comes back home, she’s packing a bag and moving out. Siblings….OY!

Chacha keeps on running underneath me and the couch and going underneath my blanket, lol lol lol lol!!! This little girl keeps me going!! I was talking to my boyfriend and my head was on a pillow. she kept chinning the pillow!!!!!

I got the bed on overstock.. it was a steal lol. It was 20.00.. regular.. like 90? O_o

Life is a never-ending finals week!

Last small talk thread I mentioned seeing some barely 1 day old kits.  Well, they are being advertised already!!  They’re 3 weeks old but I did see an earlier ad that mentioned them being ready end of May (I think) so this would make them 5wks old then. Still…..too young!

I’m less concerned for my finals and more concerned b/c we’re planning to go out for drinks after school on the last day, and I can’t drink when I’m sick. Lol…

So hopefully I feel better by Monday!

Haha, as I read the first lines, I thought “Clearly, it is stress-related”, but since you are more concerned if you can go out after the finals, I’m guessing you are not that stressed  So glad, I’m done with exams and all, but then again, it just starts all over once you have to go to job interviews and do tests and all. Life is a never-ending finals week!

I ended up being better for going out!  I was so happy!

Weird thing is, almost a week being out of school, I keep having this nagging feeling that I have to DO SOMETHING!  Write a paper, study something, read a textbook… but then I tell myself… I DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING!!!  And the feeling goes away.  But about an hour later I’m sitting here thinking, “Shoot… what is it I have to do?”

I can’t seem to get it thru my head that I have a reprieve for a short time.

Beka: It must be nice! So what are your plans now?

JG: I guess it is more common practise to sell them at the age of 5 weeks than 8 really…I don’t understand why the sellers are in such a rush. They look cute though – I want the one in picture no. 3!

We went to the shelter today. We had 4 rabbits to pick from, and there was the cutest and tiniest lionhead. Also, there was such a cuddly bunny, that I was completely in love with, but although he was neutered (5 days ago) his “thingy” was out all the time and he ended up humping my hand. I know we were being silly, but we weren’t sure that his “thingy” would ever go inside again, so that is the only reason I didn’t pick him So, right now I have a black and white lop caged in the bunny room and freaking out Karl and Molly. They think he is the scariest thing ever!

You know what, there was a huge bunny that looked like a mix of a lionhead and a giant rabbit. The lady at the shelter told me that he was really active, so he needed to be an outdoor bunny. I told her ours were free-roaming inside and they had 120 sqm…she still wasn’t convinced that he should be an indoor bunny because of his energy level??! Right, so give him to somebody who will put him in a backyard hutch. Great idea.

Poor big bunny. Hopefully someone gets him that has a ton of indoor room for him.

Now, I know why people say bunnies stink – cause he does  I don’t have any proper pictures of him just yet. He is forced to spend 3 days in the small cage in order to be litter trained (and the hormonal level to drop just a tiny bit. I know I probably shouldn’t try to bond him the next couple of weeks, but I am going to give it a go, anyhow)

Funny thing was that when I brought him in to the room in the carrier, they were both really interested and were all over the carrier. Then when I opened it, to get him out and into the cage, they panicked. It looked so funny They were going “Oh, no, RUN, RUN! It’s going to get us!” and they ran off in panic and fell over each other. Karl actually even pulled out a huge piece of fur from Molly, which is something, I had never thought he could do. And for what…a really scared bunny, who didn’t even dare to come out of the carrier.

Oh, another thing. At the shelter, they had the cutest orange bunny. My boyfriend was completely in love with it. Anyhow, we petted it quite a bit and then went on to the others. Then, the lady at the shelter came out to us and we asked if it was a boy or a girl. She said they didn’t know, because no one had touched it as it had ringworm…ooops! They really ought to put a piece of paper on the hutch, so people would know. Of course, you pet the bunnies.

We really liked that one, but she wouldn’t check the sex. Weird. She could just have washed her hands afterwards if she did. I guess we should have told her we just petted the rest of them afterwards, but we were too embarrased.

Whys the dog in the bunny cage. I seriously was sitting here squinting for at least 5min figuring out what kind of dog that is and why it looks so much like a bunny – then I went back to page one and saw the new dog! Duhhhhhhhhhh

Oh gosh I need more sleep…

He’s snoozign in his fuzzy bed atm, so cute!

They are not serious like that at all. But he was big! I tried petting him, and it was so strange compared to Molly and Karl – also, I was imagining what it would be like to trim his nails. Man, that is difficult with Molly, so imagine how much such a big guy can fight  But I did like him.

As we were walking out, my boyfriend said that we could talk about a fourth in a while (wow, did those words actually come from him?). It’s just so hard when you stand there with all these cute rabbits to pick, and you can only pick one. Which one is the right one for you? And which one can you save from a miserable life in an outdoor hutch?

Don’t you guys find it hard when you at the shelters and have to pick one?

Don’t you find it hard to look at these ads and not think “oh, should I…”? I stay away from these ads now, that I have learned that I can easily fall in love with pictures.

They did notice that Molly had lost weight. I think the mum felt bad. She did mention it a couple of times that Molly (or Malou, which was her name) looked so much more healthy and that they probably hadn’t taken proper care of her. Also, her fur is very different from when we got her. The white is actually white and not yellowish, and she is really shiny.

New Bun doesn’t have a name just yet. I’m thinking something like Johan or Gustav…my boyfriend just said “oh, so you are still going for those old-fashioned names?”, so I guess we haven’t quite agreed on a name. I let him out for about two hours this morning as I was cleaning the cage and the bunny room (I know. I keep telling everybody else to stick with the confinement the first three days, and then I don’t do it myself haha). He is quite nervous still.

I’ve given him Karl’s stuffed toy, so he can have his fun with it. I cannot figure out if I should do that or not. I would like his hormones to calm down as quickly as possible, but I’m not sure if I’m prolonging his urge to hump by giving him the toy? But I just felt sorry for him ’cause there is absolutely nothing to do in the small cage. Also, he was supposed to get his final Baytril today, and I assumed he would love basil like the others, so I poured the Baytril over his basil, but he doesn’t eat it…so now he is not getting his final meds.

I think it would be the kindest thing to do to give him the toy. As long as he isn’t a chewer! Is he newly neutered? Anyway, it’s help him and having the other rabbits scent on it is good to as he’ll become more familiar.

I really hope that the final day with Baytril was just to be on the safe side. But maybe I’m lucky, and he will eat the basil later today. It just used to work so well with Jack that I never thought New Bun wouldn’t fall for the trick. But hey, he didn’t even eat the raisins, I gave him. He only wants his hay.

I hope I can take a picture of him soon. He looks like one of my childhood bunnies. He looks cute. But both his eyes and his fur need some cleaning and care.

We are thinking about changing Freddie’s name again. My boyfriend thinks Eddie is a better name. LOL, no wonder that bunny is so messed up.

I used to be able to get a big box but now I can’t cos people will buy the meds for another reason entirely (drugs..) and ruin it for the people that actually need the pills for allergies! Sigh, a rant!

If it is the timmy hay, tough beans for me. Lems doesn’t seem to like the orchard grass, and until the teff comes, I have to blend it with the timmy. Sigh.

After my shower, I grabbed my towel and dried off in the tub.  Then I looked down to pull my loose hair out of my hair trap…. and what do I find?! Two bunny turds! Apparently the bunnies have been playing in my clean laundry and they wanted to leave me a couple presents in my towels. Sigh. I had to laugh though.

Do anyones bunnies have this habit like mine? When ever I sit on a step (usually when I let the buns have a run outside) the buns always want to go through the small gap on my side. So if I sit to one side allowing a large space for them to go past, they often will choose the opposite side, squeeze past and give a nudge as they go! It’s so curious! Especially Rumball I notice does this. Even in the house when I’m on the floor and have created what they view as a barrier with my body, they’ll do this. It must be like I’ve created a tunnel for them.

Tootles (skunk costume), Nibs (bunny costume), Slightly (fox costume), Cubby (bear costume) and The Twins –  Marmaduke and Binky (racoon costumes) Cute huh! Good bunny names.  I was looking this up as I was thinking Lost Boy names would be good for that bunny Kralspace found.
