Just 1 day after Easter and the shelter I volunteer at has had 30 drop offs mostly bunnies way way too young to be away from momma!
I am just so ticked off argh!
One woman brought in 6 rabbits and said "I got them for my kids yesterday and they aren't working out" HELLO it's been 1 day!
Ahhh ok that's all stupid people and their stupid excuses |

That lady likely didn't know how much they poop. 6 buns makes for a TON of poop. I hate people sometimes. |

Well good grief, six rabbits! That's way too many to begin with. I sometimes wish shelter people would ask more questions like where they acquired the rabbits from - why don't they take them back there! |

that is pathetic. getting 6 rabbits for a day with plans to dump them or actually thinking 6 rabbits for pets would be a good idea... either way... moronic. and this lady is a mother and role model to kids? God help us all. |

You should have told the lady she is not working out as a parent and social services will be picking up her kids shortly... |

This is why I don't work with the public directly. I would get fired and my boss would get sued. |

Oh Markus - You have uncovered the very reason I have been forced to get a PhD. I just SAY things. I can't tell you how many times I got in trouble for blurting out my thoughts. Mind you, I was working for a State Agency and these thoughts were blurted out to the Governor. I figure once I get tenure, I will be a little safer. |

Everytime I was fired (or let go or downsized or whatever), the person letting me go almost always added "I wish I could have said what you did." |

No new buns at my shelter. The only one that they have (right now) is Max & well his mine. 3 more days until he comes home!!! Whoooo!!!! But anyway..... 6 buns!! What an idiot. It makes me mad. Gosh how hard is it to get on a computer & look up info/resarch about rabbits? Seriously. If everybody did that, well I'm sure it would help a lot. Gosh it makes me so mad!! Poor buns MarkBun- hahahaha |

You took the words right from my mouth LOL
I seriously think people should have licenses to breed, then we could stop dumb (insert profanity) like her from procreating.
I had 7 young/baby bunnies in my home for a few months and OMG not just the amount of poop but the spray!!! They hadn't been sputered yet, what a mess! Up to 3 feet out of there cage. Still cannot get my treadmill clean LOL

* Don't Breed or Buy while Homeless Pets Die. Opt' to Adopt!
* Adoption is the Living Option.
* Adopting One Rescued Animal Saves Two Lives. The Animal you Adopted, and the Homelss Animal that will take it's Place in the shelter. |

I don't deal with the people directly unless they are there to adopt a bunny. Then they have to sit through a "class" on bunny care. They have a different person for every type of animal there. I have tried to get them to make a website to draw more attention to them but it probably wouldn't help since there is a shelter near by that you don't even have to fill out papers or pay anything you go pick out the pet you want and go home. I have a problem with dealing with people when they bring their pets in I get all kinds of shades of mad and the worse the excuse the madder I get and will usually end up saying things that gets me fired or "asked" not to come back lol. I have 2 bunnies and the poop they produce in a day would be enough to drive most people away from getting bunnies let alone 6 babies at once and babies that were way too young to be away from mom at that! |
