Hello all..
Here is the Question…
Are all of you from the States.. or other countries.. anyone on this from Canada..
I don’t think we have these shelters for Bunnies.. I don’t think we have these places where you take your Bunnies to meet there special friend to bond. I live in Ontario.. Oshawa Area.. Bunnies are not as popular over here. http://deannalinesdesigns.bravehost.com/ or see this..

Several of us from Canada on here!

yes, many rescue organizations in Canada offer bunny-dating. It depends if the shelter has a rabbit mandate, and if they have rabbits that are already altered. I see the SPCA for Durham region has many adoptable rabbits available, but it looks like most of them are intact. There is one, Wilder, who is already neutered. here he is. I’m sure you could ask for a bunny-date with him.
I’m originally from Vancouver BC, but now live in the Portland area in Oregon
Texas. A TINY, & I do mean TINY town in Texas.
Minnesota!
Im not really from anywhere lol My gma used to call me a gypsy
I was born in boston, MA and has lived in 11 places before I was five-, mostly grew up in southern ontario and edmonton. I’m a big traveller-have places to see but many seen. I’m a long distance driver who sees less then 20 hour driving as baby stuff
Mostly I’m from Southern Ontario, Edmonton and although I’ve never lived there -I consider myself a winnpegan Will defo be knocking on S&A door this summer in the peg (That’s your warning scooter and annette heheh)
Anyways original question I am from nowhere and don’t plan to be
Washington
Cleveland Ohio area (in the US)
We have members from all over the world, but most of us are from the US, Canada, and Australia.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA but I’ve been living in Connecticut for almost 4 years. Before CT I was in upstate New York for college and I’d love to move back there.
I have lived all over the USA. I consider myself to be from Texas – my mom’s family has been there since before the Civil War. My mom & brothers live in San Antonio.
I have now been in Colorado for 12 years. I love it. If I had to leave I would at least stay in the Rocky Mountains.
CharleyGirl – One of my brothers friends is from a town in Texas so small, it does NOT have a Dairy Queen! ! ! ! !
I live in northern va in the DC Metro area. Most of my family is in Pittsburgh, PA. I was born there but don’t consider it my home; I haven’t been back in well over 10 years and very sporadically before that.
I live in the little bitty town of West, just north of Waco in Central Texas (pop. 2,500, do I have you beat Charlygirl?)

Cool beans, I am about 20 minutes East of Cleveland, oh.
New Jersey (be nice please…haha)
Sage Cat- We have no chain fast food places. We have restraunts but there not chains. 1 grocery store, 2 coffee places, 1 movie theater, & 1 animal rescue. Everybody is always in everybody elses buisness “rolls eyes” I do love it here though.
Wow, CharleyGirl, your place sounds like a hub of activity compared to mine. Here, there is no grocery store, no movie theater, and the closest animal rescue is three hours away. It isn’t even a town just a hamlet. Not only does everyine know everybody else, but they are all related. I think there are three different last names where I live.
I am originally from Florida and now live in WV and am dying to get back to FL . The town I live near – I don’t actually live in a town, but on a mountain – is very tiny. It has 4 local restaurant, local bank, used car dealership, one gas station and a post office, oh and a funeral home, Dollar Store. Population 2178. McDonald’s used to be here – but they closed it down. I wonder how many times that has ever happened?!!
Wow! Okay so maybe it’s not that small compared to Petzy’s & Bindilicious. They closed down Mcdonald’s? Wow!
I couldn’t stand being in that small of a town. Must… have…shopping….
— What’s Mcdonald’s?
LOL at Petzy MonkeyBun- I shop…. on the computer haha. For like electronics, & clothes shopping we drive 3/4 hours. Oh such fun
I live in an extremely small town in Kentucky population 996 the “city” is Hazard has a population of 4,806. I am not a fan of my town lol I don’t like living somewhere that everyone knows everyone else. Most of us are related in 1 way or another on my mom’s side alone there are over 2,000 of us all together.
Cleveland Ohio area here too!
Monkey, the good thing is I work in Winchester, VA, which is much bigger and then I’m only about 1.5 hours to NoVa shopping – so I do get my fix. WV is basically where I sleep . Petzy, MacDonald’s is a place that definitely does not serve stinging nettle soup!
Then I won’t miss a thing. LOL.
Are there seriously no MacDonald’s in Canada? Well, you really aren’t missing anything. I can’t imagine how thin I would be if I hadn’t grown up eating those yummy burgers
There are Mcdonald’s restaurants in Canada. I said I lived a little far from things. So here in my neck of the woods there is none.
Sorry, Petzy…LOL! I think I’ve been in the boonies for way too long!
Sonn, I actually know where Hazard, KY is! My stepson and his wife used to live there when he was finishing his doctoratal internship for Psychology. They still live in Kentucky, but in a different, slightly larger city.
I am from a small city 50 miles south of Toledo Ohio.
I haven’t touched a McDonald’s burger since I was about 7, and will never touch one again. Noooo thank you! *gag*
I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina but I live in Florida since 2001
and there’s lots of mc donalds here!
i’m an ex army brat so i’ve lived a bunch of places but i’m currently calling richmond, virginia my home and i love it :]
Wow a few people from Ohio on here, cool! I bet you guys are liking this warm weather for a change! Northeast Ohio here….about an hour south-easat from Cleveland
Hey Dust Bunny – My mom was an Army Brat! She lived all over the place. He father was stationed in Germany after WW2 and she went to high school there. She met my dad while she was living at Fort Bragg. The Colonel’s daughter and the Generals Nephew!
i think i might be the only person from louisiana here. hooray for the south! =)
New Brunswick!
Ontario has a great rabbit rescue…Check it out. RabbitRescue.ca.

Really! I am not a fan of Hazard way way too small for my liking I mean when the “hang out” spot when I was a teenager was the new (then) super walmart that is just too small for me lol
I’m from a smaller city outside of Louisville, Kentucky. I enjoy it here but would definitely prefer the quieter country life.
I’m an Aussie 🙂 Living in Melbourne but from all over the place. In the last 12 months I seem to have lived in Canberra, New Delhi (India), Darwin and Melbourne. I think I’ll settle in Melbourne for a while though!
I’m a defence force brat, went to 26 different schools from first grade to finishing high school. Wouldn’t trade it for the world though 🙂
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. When I got married, hubby was/is stationed in San Diego. I have been in SD for 2 years now.
I’m from northeastern PA. My town has about 2,000 people.. a few locally owned restaurants, two gas stations, a small grocery store, a dollar general, and a few feed mills lol. We have to drive about 30 mins to get to a walmart or any fast food chains or stuff like that, but the good stuff, like shopping malls, are about an hour away. My graduating class (2007) had 45 people, and the district (an elementary school and a jr/sr high school) has about 700 kids lol.
Originally from the Philadelphia area *yay PA* , replanted in the Chicago area.
another canadian gal here! live in the kitchener waterloo, ontario area
our humane society has a very small facility for small animals but they do their best. there is no formal ‘bunny date’ program but they do have ‘adoption rooms’ where you can take your family to meet a potential pet in private. i’m sure a bunny date could be arranged ahead of time in one of those rooms if requested. they are pretty committed to adopting out all the critters!
wow.. great reponse.. thanks all.
check my youtube…….. space it great for saving… movie projects… wow..!
I spent hours learning the new Program.. Cyberlink PowerDirector 8. These two movies are my first creation. I luv watching movies on youtube of owners with their Buns.. I hope you like mine..

i think they only have 2 maybe 3 buns atm, they are a spay/neuter shelter.. i think their a NO-kill shelter, dont remember… bbm?
from Canada-Alberta actually. Yes there are rabbit rescues in Canada-not many but their are
Also MOST shelters require, or at least allow you to bring your pets in when adopting another. So they may not know it as ‘bunny dating’ but they’d certainly let you bring your bun and do a bunny date
This is in Ontario-may be a drive from you though-I don’t remember where Oshawa is (I’m from Sarnia actually if you know where that is)
http://www.rabbitrescue.ca/
lol k&k, little puffy tail beat you and i to the link
I’m from Northern Virginia and I’ve lived here all my life (with the exception of a year, when I lived in Newport News), but in the fall, I transfer to Old Dominion University, and thus will be moving to the Hampton Roads/Tidewater region.

they don’t call themselves a no-kill shelter but they do not euthanize just because they are crowded. they work with other shelters to place animals when they are full. and if an animal is aggressive they cannot adopt it out (obviously and for good reason) and will work with the animal to try to socialize it. if this takes too long and the animal is showing signs of poor health (which can happen when they’re isolated in kennels) they will euthanize.
there was a bunny in there about a year ago that had a runny eye. i alerted them to it on a friday and the next monday the rabbit had been euthanized. i wonder to what extent/expense they would treat a sick animal.
also, dispite being a spay/neuter shelter they do not spay/neuter exotics. unfortunately due to cost they only do cats and dogs
I am originally from Orlando, FL but now live in Huntington Beach, CA…..

omgosh… yay!!! i should’ve mentioned that my info was 2yrs old. in the meantime they mustve found a reasonble and experienced vet to do bunnies too! fab news
funny, now that you mention it, the last time i was in i noticed a bun ‘s info said spayed. i just assumed it came to the shelter that way. silliness.
Just outside of Vancouver, BC Canada.
I am a volunteer with the Small Animal Rescue Society of BC (http://www.smallanimalrescue.org) (AKA SARSBC) and we deal mainly with rabbits, though all smaller animals as well. We work with the local SPCA’s including with training and education of small animal care and then with help placing, especially with any special needs cases. When we were not overcrowded with rabbits in the past (we probably have 300+) the SPCA would call us when a Rabbit came in, as many didn’t have the proper space to house a rabbit. SARSBC it totally non profit, and runs entirely on donations and volunteers, both hard to come by
that’s awesome andi! that you volunteer with SARSBC i mean… not that you have 300+ buns
Andi, I think it’s great that you volunteer! I volunteer at a local shelter too. I went to the website you posted up and saw all of your wonderful buns. So sad you have so many.
Orginally from San Francisco – Bay Area California, but transplanted to Phoenix Arizona about 5 years ago. Still trying to get used to the summer heat and the fact that everything is desert brown. There seems to be quite an Arizona bunny following on bunspace.
Have been a slave to Pebbles since last August and a slave to Dante since March – madly in love with both of them.
