This has been a hard couple of weeks. I haven’t had much time to Binky Bunny lately. About 10 days ago my Grampy was walking to his car in the mall parking lot and he got hit. Some guy backed up his car without looking. My 85 year old Grampy broke his hip, his wrist in 2 places, elbow in 3 places and injured his knee. He had surgery that night. He then got a pneumonia from water in his lungs from the surgery and needed 3 blood transfusions. The doctors warned us he will never be the same again.

Now an even bigger obstacle is that my Grampy is really depressed and seems to have just given up. He doesn’t eat or talk much. We are all trying to encourage him and it’s really heartbreaking to see him like this. He was 85 but still full of life, able to go for walks and drive and be productive. It makes me so mad that this is all taken away because someone was in a rush.  My Grampy is the sweetest man in the world and has always been so strong, he beat colon cancer a few years back.

My poor Grandmother, who is 86, spends every day, all day at the hospital taking care of him and encouraging him not to give up. They need some prayers and vibes.

Oh no! I’m so sorry! Did they arrest the person who hit him? How could someone be so careless? Healing vibes coming your way for your sweet Grampy. And hugs to you.

              ((healing vibes for Grampy))

That is such a sad story. I really hope he comes around and is able to enjoy life again, even if it’s a different life than he lead before.

Some people are just horrible. I hope the person who hit him was arrested.

There needs to be an Idiot Tax for people that don’t look before driving in parking lots.

..I have issues with cars in parking lots myself.. can you tell? heh

Thank you. No, the man didn’t get arrested. I wish he had. But his car insurance is going to sky rocket so I’m glad about that at least.

Hugs to you LPT and huge vibes for your Grampy and your Grammy. It’s so hard to see our Grandparents suffer. They are so fragile at this age and your time with them is so dear.

*Hugs* Your poor Grampa and Grandma…it’s so tragic that one persons stupidity can cause so much pain for a family. I hope he gets bad karma.

I think my Grampy is feeling more like himself. He made a joke yesterday about how fat his nurse was…lol.. Although he got another xray on his knee done yesterday and his knee is broken now. Poor guy.

Joking is good! I hope he heals fast. I also hope the nurse didn’t hear the joke, so she continues to care for him well…. LOL
                                Sending Grampy-get-well vibes your way!

Aww hun, sorry about Grampy. Maybe you can have a pet therapist come in or maybe bring a pet you have to help cheer him up if he enjoys animals.
