So it turns out that my boyfriend is allergic to hay.  well atleast we’re assuming its the hay and not Dusty since he has the symptoms of hay allergy… I’m currently feeding her alfafa and timothy.  I’m sure this has been asked a million of times, but I wanted to know if anyone had suggestions for keeping allergies under control?  I suppose I can switch hay when she gets a bit older?  He just doesn’t want to pay for allergy medication for the next ten years ;P

Timothy is usually the culprit. Try a mix of orchard grass and alfafa.  No reason why she can’t have this now. Orchards a grass hay, can b e used instead of Tim hay.   There are a LOT of threads on hay allergy as this is common. I’ll try find some for you.

A few things: An enclosed hay holder will help, as well as only you feeding and handling hay. An air purifier in the bun area may help, and NO BUNNIES in the bedroom. Even if it’s only a hay allergy, the dust particles can be on the bun’s fur and that can cause a reaction. Many people have hay allergies and live successfully with rabbits.

              Bummer!
There is a reason that it’s called “Hay Fever”.
