Did you see it? What did you think?

I saw it last night. I’ve been waiting for about a year for it to come out, unfortunetly I had to wait a few weeks before time allowed me to see it.  I was really excited about it because I love Alice in Wonderland, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. I thought it was really well done. The Tweedles scared the crap out of me…shudder. Did anyone else want to grab the White Rabbit and give him a snuggle? Or just me?

Burton and the animators visited rabbit shelters to study how the shelter rabbits moved and acted

I’d love to see this before it leaves theaters, since I missed Avatar. But it’ll depend on how everyone is feeling about going to a movie.
My fave childhood story next to the Chronicles of Narnia. ^_^ There were precious few bunnies in those stories.

i loved it!!! just don’t expect a carbon copy of the book. it’s a combo of through the looking glass AND alice in wonderland.
it seemed like a sequel of the disney version to me. but yes go see it and in 3d!!

                          i saw it twice.

once in 2d and the other in 3d. it is REALLY hard to focus on the 3d version of the film. so i recommend the 2d one

i really loved the movie! i wanted alice’s dress that the red queen made for her, lol!!

I was actually disappointed.  Visually it’s a stunning film, but plot-wise I wanted more.  It ended up being your standard hero-quest narrative with the Hatter as ObiWan Kenobi and Alice as a particularly whiny Like.  (“But I don’t WANNA be a champion!!!!”)

As for being “Alice” – it was like they took all the elements of the story, tossed them all into a big bag, pulled them out at random, and did origami with them.  I just didn’t think it hung together as a story.

It’s great-looking, the design is fabulous and very interesting, and the actors do really well with the material they were given, but I was left feeling a bit hollow.  Style over substance I’m afraid.

I was actually more impressed with the re-imagining of the Syfy channel’s ‘Alice’  – done by some of the same team that did ‘Tin Man’ which was a reimagining of The Wizard of Oz.  It was weird and definitely scifi but had all the plot elements and the characters were definitely based on the original but with a spin all their own.

i watched it last night and i enjoyed it. I didn’t really have high expectations for it and IMO *don’t stone my plz* i don’t generally like tim burton films. i knew going into it, it wasn’t exactly a remake but more of a sequel which made it better as opposed to Burton just remaking Willy Wonka into a horrible mess. It was definitely visually stunning (which I’m a sucker for) but I felt like some of the actors were odd and misplaced. Anne Hathaway? And I love Alan Ricman I wanted more!! The march hare was definitely the best part ;P My boyfriend laughed out loud whenever he was on screen and that never happens haha. I wanted her red queen dress so bad!! And yes I totally wanted to pick up the white rabbit and give him snuggles, poor thing.

I agree that Anne Hathaway seemed out of place. Every time I looked at her I thought “They should have picked someone with blond eyebrows”.
