Does anybody know of anything I could sew for my bunnies? I'm going to the fabric store today and thought I could find some cute fabric, and make them little "beds" to nap on or something. Any other ideas/suggestions?

I would love to learn how to sew and make a buny burrito bag, one that velcros shut once the bunny is in it with four holes for the feet to stick out for nail trims. Each hole would have to have velcro to close it so only one foot can stick out at a time. It is hard to describe.

I visulazied that too with Gracie in it with a wide eyed look like "OMG what ARE you doing to me?!" and her making her weezing noises   That is a good idea though.

What about a little teepee tent like thing. Some members have posted similar things. I'll see if I can find some pic to show.
Petzy, I can totally see it too. Maybe we've all been dreaming of such a thing. I sometimes think those baby slings that you wear on your front would be mighty handy!

Edit: This is new members rabbit Bailey in a hidey tent

And LittlePuffyTail's Olivia in a Barbie pop-up.

Oh my gosh Petzy! I was SOOOO wishing for one of those last week when I was trying to trim nails. I know they sell some rabbit restraints but the ones I've seen aren't ideal. I have some time coming up when I'm on spring break (finals next week! ) maybe I'll try to make one of those....

Ugh... I went to google "rabbit restraints" looking for something like Petzy described, and the first several results were links to procedures/guidelines pages for research labs. They ALL state that the recommended way to handle a rabbit is by grabbing it by the scruff! And I only read that one section, I'm sure the websites also describe other heinous "rabbit handling/care" techniques. Makes me sick.

When I have some time, maybe I'll sit down and write emails to the contact listed on all those websites. Not like it would do anything. In the research industry, it seems to be the accepted norm to use/treat animals like that. Seriously, I consider lifting/holding a rabbit like that animal abuse.

Anyway. * steps down from soap box* Hope I didn't incite a riot of BB members with that post... Just wanted to vent.

Sorry, sewsshelbyjane for "post-jacking"

Ooo that's a cute idea Spidey! Just make sure they don't eat more than a couple crasins a day... too much sugar... maybe next time stuff it with something like plain toilet paper or tissues (those are bunny safe - it's just paper) and then put only a few crasins in among the TP?

Btw, do you have a video of your bunnies with it? I bet that was hilarious to watch. Crasins seem to be the bunny equivalent to catnip - at least here they are, lol.

I can not sew worth a darn- but if I could I might consider sewing.....

A fleece cover that goes over their carrier to keep them warmer in the winter when they go to the vet (totally frivolous)

A fleece bed- no stuffing- just a couple layers of fleece with a nice pattern.

Exact proper sized fleeces to line the bottom of their pens.

And maybe a fleecy bunny buddy- though the one stuffed bunny gets ignored other than Griff using it as a pillow.  No one has ever tried to really snuggle or hump it that i have ever seen.
