Haha made you look! I went to look in our back yard really quick and opened the blinds and this was right outside the steps! Spring is in the air! This is the little scamp that was hopping under our swing in the winter (we'd see tracks going underneath it). We stared at the bunny for a bit and then it stretched and yawn (AWW!) It then went around the house, which we proceeded to run around the house following it while our bunnies stared at us lol!

Is it not suppose to be brown? I don't know to much about cottontails. My husband went to work and saw it down the street and it was going towards the woods. For some reason we always see rabbits in our yard, they must know we love bunnies! Yup that's snow, it's almost melted here in Ohio. We're getting into the 50's this week woohoo heat wave!

Yeah, I was just kidding...seeing as I will NEVER wear a bathing suit again. I go into the pool in shorts and a tank top only from now on, and that's as long as no one else is in there with me! Erm...sorry...WAY OT. 0_0; |

Ski, so so cute! He's a cubby little one, isn't he! Haha. MM, that is so cool that your wild bunnies turn white in the winter! Down here they definitely don't change color. |

MM, probably the reason your wild buns are white is because they're Snowshoe hares, not cottontails. Snowshoes turn white in the Winter, Cottontails and Jackrabbits don't. Snowshoes only live in the coldest parts of the country. Cute wild bunbun you've got there. |

Here comes Mr. Bunny-tail,
hoppin' down the rabby trail.
Hippity hoppity, binkitty floppity,
Bunbun's on his way.
And then comes in a Rabby-girl,
hoppin' down the bunny
trail. Hippity hoppity, binkitty floppity,
Rabby's on her way. |

Yup a wild bunny! Actually just last year I posted about this....I was clearing out these herbs we didn't want from this herb garden the previous owners made (they were big on growing stuff...boy was the yard a mess!) and found a little hole with 4 or 5 tiny baby bunnies! I was racking all through there and was like "oh my god I could have wacked them and hurt them!" but they were all fine and I kept an eye on them for a few days as they grew bigger. Even kept watch for mama at night. They finall left the nest and came back a few times. They probably all live in the woods down the street. That might even be one of their kids. For some reason they always come around our yard. Can't wait to see more of them.

Hmmm....Okay, I grant that the white ones have to be snowshoes...but we DO have brown bunnies here in summer. I wonder (considering they are kind of lanky) if they are jackrabbits? Our ptarmigans turn color too. They'll be a greyish brown during warm weather and then come winter you can see little fat snowballs walking around on pigeon legs. ^_^ lol@Petzy... xD |
