I went and had a meeting with a guy in melbourne who builds them and got my quote. I accepted it and well it is going to be built in the next two weeks! To help keep the costs down i am doing all the painting/staining/lining but the main frame and everything else will be done y him. I am very very excited! *insert AVs happy dance* it is going to be about twice the size of their current condo and will make my life easier for clean up. |

Linitini - I was naughty I went with a 4 rabbit cage so that they would have more room, yes that is the reasons so that my 2 will have more room, not so I could get more in the future.... nope just for my two... well that is my story and I am sticking to it! |

no, the inside will be lined with lino the outside is getting a face lift with either paint or stain no sure which, and either way it will be 110% dry before the rabbits go anywhere near it! |

Let it dry a minimum 24 hours before putting bunnies in it, longer if the paint or stain is a stinkier variety... paint may look dry on the outside, but can still be wet under the surface. Fumes can stick around for awhile too. May want to have it in a well ventilated room for awhile... Better safe than sorry |

Yeah planning on that. I have birds in the room so have to be really really careful. I have on under roof outdoor back patio that it will be in for at least a week to be on the safe side. |

The outside that they are not going to be allowed to get to will be stained or painted and I am using the pet friendly stuff that i can buy out here. The inside that they can get to will be lined with lino. |

I order my new rabbit hutch from this lady and that was fine we worked out what it was going to be etc... All was fine and I was $580 poorer. I was suppose to pick it up the weekend after easter. I got a call yesterday saying that due to the size that it had to be built outside and was now discolouring in the the sun. I then said I would pick it up earlier if needed and we worked out that Easter Monday would be good. I also have since paid them $400, $200 as a deposit and $200 as a installment with the remaining $180 due on delivery. Now she is calling me saying "Oh did you want X?" I said well yes we agreed on that but she claims that it will be extra, so now I am not getting wheels, i am not getting the pine inserts and I am not getting the mozzie netting. If she calls me again and removed something else that I wanted from it them I am going to refuse to pay and ask for a refund! GRRRRRRRR |

That is a lot of money. What does this condo look like? Is this a reputable company, b/c it sounds like they're screwing with you. |

i built a 3-story condo on my own ( and with my dad) and only cost about 180 (well it would have cost that much but it was cheaper cuz we already had some of the supplies) but $580 that is ridicules. |

Mocha, she has to pay for the labor involved in building the cage too, which is a lot considering the cage is big enough for 4 rabbits. It's too bad you didn't write up a contract with them so they can't keep tacking on added charges. Jerks. |

Ok it came and it is HUGE! There are a few design issues with it, eg things not to spec etc... and I had to pay extra for the wheels in the end which took it to over $600 but it is soooooo cool and I love it and I have to work out how it will fit in the room as it is a little bigger then I thought it was going to be but it is sooooooooooooo cool! I need to do pictures but I need to finish off the design part of it and set it all up and then you get pictures but OH MY GOD IT IS HUGE! |

I am doing the stain as fast as I can! Last night I used an entire tube and only managed to cover one side and two of the six doors. Thinking I might have to go buy more! |
