  Yesterday while listening to the News, I heard a story about the infamous Rick Astley Video “Never Gonna Give you Up” being accidentally removed from YouTube – Don’t worry, the video is back up!
  
  For any one who is not familiar with being “Rick Rolled” It is a bait and switch: a person provides a link that they claim is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Astley video. yougotrickrolled.com/ This meme has become so popular that Astley and the song made a surprise appearance in the 2008 Macys Thanks Giving Day Parade!
  
  So, back to the News story I heard. Of course, you cant do a story that involves a song with out playing the song. So, the song is playing on the radio. Winston goes crazy. Running around, hiding, thumping, running and thumping. He does not stop until the song is off the radio!

  This almost made me spit coffee on my monitor! Lol… there was a NEWS STORY about this?! I love it! My friends and I were always doing this a couple years ago when it first came out.

  i was quite the fan of rick rolling people. i still do it. the song is just endlessly funny to me. i had it as a cell phone ring too. i hate ringtones but you can’t help but laugh when you hear that song.

  i wonder if he disapproves of all cheesy songs or if it’s just ones with bad 80s hair and outfits?

  LMAO I just shared this with my husband and he burst out laughing. Rick Rolling is one of the funniest and most annoying things of all time. Love it! Poor Winston does not enjoy the joke I guess.

  My husband and I were trying to think of the most annoying thing to teach our greys to whistle or sing (not that we would)- and I thought immediately of the Rick Astley song or Achy, Breaky Heart by Biily Ray Cyrus. My husband thought the Barney song would be terrible! I would much rather listen to random whistles and beeps- so we are not training them or setting up a repeating soundtrack from them to learn from!

  Katnip – I saw a youtube vid with a bird singing spongebob square pants. Not sure if someone linked it here but I’ll see if I can find it. Don’t worry, I won’t rick roll you. ;0)
