Hmmmm never really thought about it.             Guess I would have to say yes I do now that I am aware of it.  Sure why not

I’m really into astrology.(I used to be a total fortune telling nut with astrology, dreams and tarot cards) I think it applies to animals somewhat but not to the same extent it applies to humans. If someone tells me their sign, I can get a pretty good idea of their personality but it’s not so accurate with animals.

              Ooo, LPT. Cool.

I wandered into a beginner Astrology class at a new age bookstore years ago, and stayed for the course, so I learned how to read a chart. I was living in Salem, MA, at the time, naturally. Also knew a few local psychics, so got lots of tarot card readings and eventually got some of my own.

Teacher once gave a great analogy: Sun signs are like people from the same part of the country. You can tell someone from New York City pretty easily, and they are totally different from someone from the suburbs of Illinois, or from Malibu. But it’s the chart that shows the difference between a New Yorker from Park Ave. and a New Yorker from the Bronx.

I used to have a mobile in my room as a child that had paper ovals with all the signs and their start/end dates on them. But what I really wanted to be was an astronomer. (Sadly, by high school, I realized I just couldn’t do the math…)

For most of my life, astrology has been in the background, but when I dabbled in new age stuff during the end of my teen years and part of my early twenties it became more prominent. These days I just think it’s kind of random…sort of how a broken clock can be right twice a day. My daughter is immersed in it since she reads manga and the Japanese are pretty steeped in assigning astrological charts to even their story characters.

However, I think my hubby still reads his horoscope in the paper when he picks it up. Many times he’s tried to tell me it’s portended some good luck he’d had that day…it used to drive me nuts. Honestly, I think he had better luck in his life BEFORE he met me…lol. It’s been all downhill since then.

Also I’d heard some time ago that signs could be used even for places, and that California was a ‘Virgo’ state (being accepted to the Union in September of 1850) since most of the new age mentality is still practiced there, or rumored to be.

I think I prefer Chinese astrology if I had to pick between east and west. I also used to research totemic mythology of native peoples and found that fascinating.

I do believe Pip is born under the sign of the curmudgeon. ^_^

It is rather interesting, isn’t astrology?

I was born in the year of the Rabbit, according to Chinese & Japanese zodiac

That would be difficult…I don’t know any of my bunnies’ b-days either…or time of day, so….

Yay, a fellow rabbit! *ear wiggles* The only sad thing is having to wait 12 years in between celebrations. ^_^
Next year is our year, I think.

                          I study astrology, too.

When I adopt my bunny, I found out that he is Leo. I’m all prepared for Leo bunny.

Unfortunately most people don’t know the exact birth date of their bun.

It might be fun to post our own signs? I’m Pisces: The Dreamer and I fit it to a T.

Pisces here! I am pretty sure that Mellow is a Cancer because I do know that he was born around the end of June.

Have you read up on the traits of a rabbit?

It makes me happy.. my mom had me a great year and I love rabbits

My mom was half Okinawan, and I am really into stuff from the Japanese culture… so I will be buying too much stuff when the year of the Rabbit comes up soon

Unfortunately, I really don’t buy into astrology. I guess I’ve never read a horoscope for me that is even close to accurate, so I don’t figure it’s that accurate for others 😛

They can be fun to read occasionally, but I don’t put any stock into them.

eta: I’m a Pisces and I am the total opposite of the Pisces personality. If I had to pick a sign I would be Aquarius, but since I wasn’t born under that sign it doesn’t count

eta2: Otto is also a Pisces, being born 3 days before me. I don’t think it fits him particularly well either. http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/pet-astrology.htm

Nuf said. I rest my case.

When were Monkey and Moose born?

Come on, MM, what do you think your 3 are? (And there is a theory that some places are better for certain signs than others. It’s a location of a place similar to the way you locate a person at the time of birth. Supposedly if you go to a place that works well with your chart, you’ll find good luck. Other places you need to stay away from. I forget where I saw a website that you could plug in your info. and it would look it up for you.)

                                            I’m a Scorpio. I think Sammykins is a Virgo.

Aha. Found it. It’s AstroClick Travel. You plug in your birthdate info. and then click on a place on a map and it gives a blurb about what that place would be like for you based on your chart. It’s fun! I just read that London is great for me for romance, creativity and finances. Ireland, Buenos Aires also. Hmmm……

Monkey is an Aries. The baby of the zodiac. All play and energy and baby emotions.

Moose – probably a Taurus. Slow and steady. Couch potatoes. Mashed potatoes.

Well, we first found Mimzy somewhere in June of 07, I think? We figured him to be about three months old at the time, so that would put him back to March…so he was probably an ‘easter bunny’.
Pip we’d seen all through that summer and into the winter at PETCO, and they figured her to be 6 months…(of course, she was ‘still’ 6 months when my daughter finally convinced daddy to let her have her at the end of that year…sooo….) but I think she was a returned bunny who was probably older. She was spayed (had the ear tattoos) so she could’ve been younger I guess, but we didn’t adopt her till December that year. I’d like to think she was born about the same time as Mimzy. Maybe a February bun, she does love her water.
Fiver was different. PETCO saleslady said he was over a year old…(got him in August of 08) but when I took him to the vet a month later the doc said he couldn’t have even been a year old by her estimate (checking teeth, size of privates, etc.) …so I think he’s got to be somewhere in the autumn. It might be easier to tell their signs by their personalities if you think it would help.
                                                  Ahem….
Pip, has her regal side, but loves to mother. (I think she’ll take Mimzy back a.s.a.p. MB, I’ll get photos when it happens of course. Oh wait…I do have pix of them before their bond was broken if you’d like to see?) She is the easiest to handle and doctor, except for anything that goes in her mouth. If it wasn’t her idea first, you’re in for a fight.
She eats volumes. Hardly picky at all. Behaves very well and is my steady rock. I don’t have to worry about her being unpredictable. She is a touch agoraphobic, however.

Mimz, I like to call him my ‘zen bunny’…he is almost always sleeping/meditating. LOVES tai chi music. But he will do binkies and zooms if he has the room and nobody is watching (he thinks). Crazy about the outdoors, I can just see him with a little backpack, walking stick and Sterno kit. He loves to be loved. If you aren’t petting him, you should be. He’ll let you know with a nip or a dig. Same goes for when he wants to be left alone. Opinionated (aren’t all rabbits) and definitely still thinks he’s boss bun since he got here first.

Fiver…jeez, he’s my spazz-o-matic. Once he’s out for exercise, he’s all over the map. Until then, he’s trying to make himself as small as possible. Very excitable, timid but craves attention. I named him Fiver for a reason…I think he’s as nervous as the Fiver from Watership Down. Hopefully, he isn’t seeing visions of doom and destruction, but he acts like he is. He does relax, but the minute he sees any change in his environment, he’s alert and ready to flee. Yet his intelligence is obvious, as I think it is for all Rex type rabbits…not to say that others aren’t smart, but there’s a sentience about the Rex that tells me they know more than they’re telling.

As for me, I’m a double Virgo. And I hate it. I always wanted to be a Leo, but I guess Vedic astrology puts you one month back, so maybe I am one anyway. Hubby is on the Leo/Virgo cusp. Son is Scorpio, daughter is Saj. In our Eastern astrology, hubby is the pig/boar, son is the snake and daughter is the sheep/ram. You can imagine the creativity that flows from my girl, she’s got two huge art signs hanging over her.

                                                  Jeez, I sound like I believe it…*shakes head* lolz…..
Hmmm…and I think my sign is telling me I need to move to Hawaii. ^_^

Taurus teaches baby Aries to chill, relax, have a nap. Gemini wakes up after Taurus and thinks and chatters. All mental stimulation and communication.

Sag tells Scorpio to lighten up. Scorpio gets very deep and into the heavy dark questions, and Sag. says “now that you understand it, live it up while you can.” Sag travels.

Love the second part there….The one thing I’ve noticed about my Scorpio son is that he’s a hypochondriac like me. Everything he reads about, he’s got and he has to read EVERYTHING. Lately, he wants to live with no restrictions of any kind, unless it suits him to do so.
My daughter gets totally annoyed with him, but I think that’s due to the fact that he’s her brother. >_< Drives me nuts, being an only child, I would've given anything to have a sibling even to argue with.

I have to wonder any of this help with bonding my rabbits? Does knowing their sun signs help, complicate or mean nothing to how I view the process?

And just what do you mean IF I want to see the pics/ What kind of question is that!

Aries and Taurus.. yep, sounds like my babies.

I’m a pig/boar too, just like your hubby MM! lol My hubby is an Ox evidently.

They really were quite cute together. I sometimes wonder, if I had known that Mimzy’s nose bubbles were really from toothache, if I could’ve helped him to feel better sooner by keeping him with her.
But as soon as we get these teeth finally settled, they’ll be together again, I’m pretty sure. And if not, I think Fiver wants a shot (at bonding with Mimzy, not Pip…she doesn’t seem to want to know he’s alive.)

MM, we posted simultaneously and I went offline (low battery I think) so am only seeing this now. No, I didn’t mean your buns are those three.

Mimzy is definitely a Pisces. The date and your description both fit that. I have a problem figuring out Pip, since “mothering” is a Cancer sign thing, but that’s not until mid-summer, and being steady makes her sound like a Taurus, but that wouldn’t be until May-ish. But that seems to fit her well. She doesn’t sound like a Pisces. Although, in humans they are ultra females and attract nearly all men, (ie. Liz Taylor) so maybe that fits the attraction for both boys.

Fiver – what month do you think he was born again?

MM, you are SOOOOOOOO a Virgo! I’m a quadruple Scorpio, so there’s no hope for me.

Actually, there is no such thing as a cusp, really. Once you do your chart it pinpoints your sun sign. But being next to the next sign means there’s that influence in the way your other planets and aspects have influence. (And the Scorpio reveals the secret well of Astrology trivia knowledge.)

You can watch for traditional Sun Sign compatibility in bunnies. That means 3 signs Trine, or get along smoothly and easily. It’s always the same element that trines. Water, Air, Earth & Fire.

Air signs: Libra, Gemini, Aquarius (And Aquarius is actually an air sign despite the water bearer symbol.)

                                                                    Water signs: Scorpio, Pisces, Cancer

                                                                    Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

                                                                    Fire signs: Leo, Saggitarius, Aries

In humans those are the combos that you may find you understand someone more easily, have similar traits, or are more patient with than the others. The opposite are Squares. Squares teach you lessons. The hard way.

Takes charge of things. When she is with Mimzy in the xpen, she does all the moving about, rearranging things, is always the one out trying to be sociable, while Mimzy just sits in his box…his still waters definitely run deep.

I would say adventurous and exploring. Fun loving. Probably binkies a lot, and playful. Maybe shorter attention span. Likes variety in toys. Very social.

Leaning toward Taurus for Pip, too. But they are couch potatoes, and might not be as social, so she could also be a baby Aries, which is more social and has young child type emotions. But more active. Intuition says Taurus, too, though.

He is currently the binky champ in our household. I’ve never seen a bunny popcorn as much as he does.
He loves all the plushies I have on the bed and they are all different. I think if they weren’t so much bigger than he is, he’d pull a Samantha and drag them into his pen.
Pip can be antisocial, but the Aries sounded right to me too, I just didn’t think all the traits fit. Right now the daughter is pouting because she doesn’t think Pip loves her anymore. I keep telling her she’s got to spend time with her, but she gets so easily rejected. (is that a Saj trait?)

Libras are fairly social. Fiver would have to be born at the very end of Nov. or in most of December to be a Sag, and he’s more jumpy/nervous than playful. Sag is more brave. I stick with Libra.

                                                                                  Pip. Taurus. Stubborn bull.

I don’t know much about astrology, except that I think it is fun. If it works for people – why would it not work for animals?

I don’t have a clue when Kay & Winston were born. Not even a time of year. Bummer!

I do know that I am an Aries & J is a Sagittarius – a good match. However, I am also the year of the Horse & He is the year of the Tiger – also a good match. Yea!

Unfortunately, I really don’t buy into astrology.
I’m a Pisces and I am the total opposite of the Pisces personality. If I had to pick a sign I would be Aquarius, but since I wasn’t born under that sign it doesn’t count

I have an astrology buff in the family so I have to share what I heard. Apparently, many people feel the way as you do, that they really are a lot like the sign before or after their real sign. This can happen because in astrology you are supposedly not just under the reign of the sign the sun was in at the time of your birth, but multiple planet signatures apply. As mercury and venus travel closely to sun, they tend to pass through the signs of the zodiac close to the one the sun is in, usually the same one or one sign removed. In your case, this means that being Pisces, your sun was in Pisces but your mercury and venus could easily have been in Aquarius and give you characteristics accordingly.
