Tonite I gave banana to Moose and Monkey for hte very first time.

Moose, of course, devoured it right away. Anything to do with food, he eats it. And he came looking for more.

Monkey…. she ran away from it. I put it in front of her nose, she cowers and trys to get away when she’s in a corner. Its so cute, but I felt so sorry for her.

Didn’t stop me however. I smushed some onto her paw! So she HAD to try it. She washed her paw. And washed it more. And more. I put down the piece of banana… Monkey nabs it and runs away to eat it in the other corner. I show her a little piece again… she runs and cowers in the corner. Silly baby! I guess she hates the smell, but loves the taste

On the bright side, this means the banana on forehead thing may work when bonding

          I just love Monkey.
Sounds like she will respond to banana on the head when the time comes.
After two tastes, she might have been full.

              silly bun!

what did you think of the way they eat it? i am infinitely amused by watching my little man eat banana. he looks like a dog with peanut butter in his mouth. the sound is hilarious, too. he smacks so loudly. i guess i need to teach him some manner! =D

perhaps monkey would prefer if you served the banana on a silver platter? lol!

Pam, when I left the last little bit on the floor, she ran over to sniff, cower, and then eat it again. SHe definitely wasn’t full, is just scared of the smell! lol

Haha. Otto also turns away from banana like I’m trying to feed him poison.

Though he does that with almost all foods, so I’m used to it 😛

Olivia snubbed banana the first time too. Now she goes nuts for it! It’s a favourite here for sure. I also love the banana lip smacking.

Warri does that with cilantro. He makes the funniest face and pulls his head away. It takes him a bit to get over the smell before he’ll eat it.

Leroy was hesitant about banana when I offered it to him months ago, but Jeannie’s foster mom told me that Jeannie loves bananas, so when I gave Jeannie a piece of banana, I had to give some to Leroy too otherwise I’d feel bad Now leroy loves it! And yes, the little smacking noises they make are the best! Hehe.

Barbie, I’m hoping that when Otto has a girlfriend, someday, she’ll teach him to eat things other than lettuce and pellets 😛

Hahahaha!  Bunnies are so finicky!   Though Leroy is a glutton when it comes to food – now that he eats bananas, I haven’t found a veggie/fruit that he won’t eat.  Jeannie is a little more reserved in her tastes (doesn’t care for pineapple, thank you ).

At least it makes your shopping easier!

                              A MONKEY who doesn’t like banana?? 0_o
Actually, Fiver doesn’t like any fruit. I’ve tried it with him more than once. It’s probably a good thing, because with how precious he is, I wouldn’t be able to be circumspect with it. >.<

does she like cilantro? or mint? or is she just picky about fruit smells?

MJ hates cooking smells, too. i feel badly for cooking at times because he hides for a few hours after i fire up the stove. =\

she loves her cilantro, parsley, carrot, romaine, basil…. she did take awhile before eating the parsley and cilantro and basil. She ran away from it too, now that I am remembering…

When cooking now, I make sure to open up windows at either end of the apartment, so air flows right through, taking the cooking smells out fast. It seems to help. Moose is sensitive to the smells too.
